In this chapter, YHVH arranges circumstances for Daniel to be introduced to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, through the revelation and interpretation of dreams. A similar event occurred with Joseph to the Pharaoh of Egypt.
At the same time, Daniel is revealed to be a superior counselor to the king over his pagan advisors, magicians, astrologers, sorcerers and Chaldean priests.
Through Daniel’s interpretation of the king’s dream, a future history is revealed of the kingdoms that will rule in Europe and the Near East until the end of the age, when Yeshua will return and establish his world-ruling millennial kingdom. This historical overview begins the Neo-Babylonian kingdom and empire under Nebuchanezzar II and ends with what is revealed in the book of Revelation to be a world ruling geopolitical, economic and religious system which it refers to as Mystery Babylon the Great.
Daniel 2:1, In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign.Shortly after arriving in Babylon, YHVH opened the door for Daniel’s divine mission.
Daniel 2:2, Chaldeans.These were the “Levitical” priests of Babylon.
Daniel 2:28, In the latter days.The latter days of what? Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, the kingdom of Babylon or the latter days of as in the end times when Yeshua will return? As we proceed, we see that Daniel interpretation of the king’s dream, spans a period from that time until the second coming of Yeshua.
Daniel 2:31–35, A great image.The head of gold is Nebuchadnezzar and his Babylonian Empire. Daniel says this. The chest and arms of silver were the Persian Empire that succeeded Babylon and which Daniel records occurred. After that, are the belly and thighs of bronze which was the Greek Empire under Alexander the Great. Following that were the two legs of iron and clay or the Roman Empire, which eventually subdivided into two empires: the eastern and western empires. Out of the remnants of this grow ten subdivisions, which will exist when Yeshua—the Stone that was cut without hands—will utterly destroy this system that had its roots in ancient Babylon and in the end times is referred to in the book of Revelation as Mystery Babylon the Great. After this, Yehsua will establish his millennial kingdom and will rule over all the earth (Rev 20:2, 3, 4, 5, 6).
Daniel 2:34, Struck the image.This event is recorded in Revelation chapter 18. How the destruction of the end times Babylon the Great occurs is recorded in Revelation 19 culminating in the commonly-called Battle of Armageddon, when King Yeshua and his heavenly army will destroy once and for all the military arm of this world ruling Satanic system (Rev 19:17–21).
Daniel 2:35, A great mountain.In biblical prophecy, a mountain is often a poetic Hebraism for a government.
Daniel 2:41, Toes.If the legs are the Roman Empire the western leg of which fell in A.D. 456 and the eastern leg of which fell in 1453 with the fall of Constantinople to the Muslims, then the ten toes must somehow originate out of the two legs of the Roman Empire. The western or Rome-based leg continued to rule as a politico-religious entity under the Roman Catholic Church and it Holy Roman Empire exercising influence over Europe and its colonies for hundreds of years after the fall of Rome in the fifth century. Meanwhile, after 1453, Islam ruled most of the lands of the ancient Roman Empire in the east.
Two Legs (one possible understanding of the metaphorical meaning). Until recently, the idea that somehow the “Christian” western leg of the old Roman Empire would in some way unite with the eastern Muslim leg of the old Roman Empire seemed impossible and ludicrous. However, this is no longer the case. West and east began coming together through their mutual economic interests in oil along with advent of the petrodollar. After that, the Roman Catholic Church has began making ecumenical overtures to Muslim world over the past few decades. Finally, with the hordes of Muslim refugees fleeing into Europe, it is projected that in some countries in a decades the demographics will switch to a Muslim majority as native European birth rates continue to decline steadily. Already, more and more Muslims are assuming the reigns of political leadership in various European countries (e.g. the current mayor of London).
In light of these recent developments, it is not surprising to see the two legs of the ancient Roman Empire cooperating, yet remaining separate (iron and clay). Each has its own goals of world domination, yet each is united in its hatred of Israel and the Jews, and of fundamental Christianity. The current pope, for example, has blatant Marxist leanings and is openly pushing a globalist, Antichrist agenda at many levels. Similarly, Islam is akin to Marxism in its fascistic approach to governance and its Antichrist beliefs. In fact, Islam more than any other religious system on earth best fits the John’s five criteria that define the spirit of Antichrist in his first and second epistles.
Two Legs (another possible understanding of the metaphorical meaning). The two legs are one single kingdom (vv. 40, 41, 42) with two subdivisions reprented y the two legs which are still one in that they are joined at the hip. The two legs are the two subdivisions of the ancient Roman Empire into east and west as described above. The one leg represents the West, most notably, Europe and North America and its traditional allies, while the other leg is East, most notably the Islamo-fascist countries along with Russia and China. Even though each leg appears to be separate, they are still connected at the hip (economically). In a sense, they represent the yin and yang of the New World Order by which the globalist exercise dominion over the earth through controlled opposition. Both sides are economically tied, so behind the scenes they need each other, while on the surface and in public view, they are in open opposition to and even, at times, at war with each other. It is a fragile alliance that is held together through a somewhat tennuous global technocracy.
Ten toes.This is likely the subdivision of the nations of the earth into ten semi-autonomous regions under the control of a world-ruling government, and which is something that the United Nations has publicly proposed in the past.
Daniel 2:41–43, Iron mixed with ceramic clay…mingled with the seed of men. The understanding that has come to me as to the meaning of the enigmatic symbols of the iron and clay in Daniel 2:43 follows. If I am correct, the meaning of this prophetic passage written nearly 2,500 years ago will a have profound impact on our every day lives very soon.
This prophetic passage reads,
Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Dan 2:41–43)
Iron is an obvious metaphor for machines, technology and ultimately a global technocracy that will attempt to totally control all humans. Clay seems to be a less obvious metaphor for humanity who, we are told, the Creator made from the earth or clay. After all, the first man was named Adam, which is a Hebrew wordmeaning “red or ruddy” and is a cognate of the Hebrew word adama meaning “earth.” All humans innately yearn to be free and will resist being controlled or even superceded by robotic machines, technology and artificial intelligence. Let me explain.
The iron appears to be a symbol of machines (which are largely metallic in composition) that will be used not only to control, but in many cases, to replace man with a technocracy (a governmental system that involves controlling humans through technology) involving robots, artificial intelligence, biometric data tracking, the internet of things and transhumanism, which will be the globalists’ attempt to fascistically impose their will on the human population, through governmental control, for the purposes of the acquisition of total power and all of the earth’s wealth. The more machines replace or are melded generically with humans (to create a race of super humans, see Dan 2:42 cp. Gen 6:2–4), the fewer humans (or non-genetically engineered humans) will be needed to perform normal work-a-day tasks in the factories of the global puppet masters. Therefore, the reduction of the human population has been the long-proposed goal of the Malthusian-inspired globalists. What better way to do this then to force humans to take a pharmaceutical injection that ostensibly purports to be for the betterment of their health, but in reality and in many cases often maims or kills them—especially the weaker, less useful, members of the human species?

In the modern mainstream media, one can hardly go a day without hearing the term conspiracy theory as a label applied to anything that does not fit the government-media complex politically correct narrative. What should be the saint’s view of the concept of so-called conspiracy theories? Actually, the Bible, the Word of Elohim and the foundation of all knowledge, has much to say about secret and evil plots by wicked cabals of like-minded individuals to thwart the plans and purposes of Elohim. As in all things, the saints of the Most High Elohim are advised to let Scripture inform them on everything they think, say and do, and this is true when it comes to “conspiracies theories” as well.
Even though the phrase conspiracy theory was apparently coined during the American Civil War, it was introduced into modern parlance in 1964 after criticisms surfaced concerning the Warren Report that “officially” explained how U.S. President John Kennedy was assassinated1. More recently, the phrase has been typically and cavalierly lobbed at anyone who suggests a narrative that explains the whys and wherefores of current political and economic events that diverges from that of the major government-media complex narrative, or what one might call “the party line”. The problem with this is that the use of such knee-jerk pejorative labels or epithets tends to shut down any questioning about, critical thinking concerning and discussion of a subject that is not “politically correct”. However, the greater problem with labeling any and every idea that one disagrees with is that this mentality ignores a key biblical truth which instructs the saints to “prove all things and hold fast to that which is good” (1 Thess 5:21). Moreover, it ignores the fact that from the beginning of time, there have always been nefarious schemes by evil people, who hate YHVH Elohim (and his saints), and to undermine and subvert the plans and purposes of the Creator. In fact, the Bible chronicles this from the beginning to the end including and even until the very return of Yeshua the Messiah as we shall see below.
By dictionary definition, a conspiracy theory is,
A theory seeking to explain a disputed case or matter as a plot by a secret group or alliance rather than an individual or isolated act. A hypothesis alleging that the members of a coordinated group are, and/or were, secretly working together to commit illegal or wrongful actions including attempting to hide the existence of the group and its activities. In notable cases the hypothesis contradicts the mainstream explanation for historical or current events. Hypothetical speculation that is untrue or outlandish.2
On the surface, this definition seems logical and almost incontrovertible, but upon closer examination, it reveals some serious flaws and begs some fair-minded critical analysis. The main and most obvious flaw in this definition is that it assumes that if we cannot see something in front of our eyes this means it does not exist. This is like saying that when we are in a boat on the ocean that if we cannot see the marine life below the waves’ surface, it must not exist. Of course, to any rational person, this is a foolish and ignorant proposition. Therefore, the typical definition of “conspiracy theory” is a non sequitur or a fallacious and illogical one.
The common and accepted definition of conspiracy theory is further flawed because it assumes that business, political and religious cabals do not exist or have never existed that have secret, ulterior and even subversive motives to gain control, power and wealth over other people. Anyone who has even a cursory understanding of history and current events knows that this assumption is patently false. If this were the case, then why do governments have secret spy and intelligent agencies such as the American CIA and FBI, the British MI6, the Israeli Mosad, or the former Soviet KJB now the FSB to name a few?
Further fallacies in the common definition of the term conspiracy theory reveal themselves like a flashing neon sign. For example, in Wikipedia’s article entitled “New World Order”, the title is followed by the parenthetical phrase “(conspiracy theory)”3. The lead paragraph in the article reads,
The New World Order (NWO) is a conspiracy theory which hypothesizes a secretly emerging totalitarian world government.
The glaring fallacious lie in this article is that high profile people (such as U.S. President George Bush) have publicly used this term New World Order as early as the late 1980s and early 1990s in reference to the very thing that Wikipedia denies exists. More recently, the so-called global elite political and economic power-brokers are using phrases like “a global reset” or “a liberal world order.” On the one hand, we are told that a new world order does not exist, and on the other hand, we are told that it is coming whether one likes it or not, and will impose upon humanity such things as a global tax, a digital global currency and cashless society, global social credit scores, a global initiatives to deal with climate change, global biometric tracking of humans, and the list goes on. The United Nations has even publicly documented such agendas in its Agenda 2021 report on the Earth Summit on “Sustainable Developments”4 and its similar Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals5. These publicly stated agendas by those who control the direction of affairs on planet earth are not conspiracy theories, but stated and undeniable facts that are being implemented and imposed on the human population as we speak!

The Issue in People’s Hearts
The Bible clearly teaches that the ten tribes of the ancient northern kingdom of Israel (known biblically by various names such as the house of Israel, Samaria or Ephraim) were exiled among the nations of the world because of sin. At the same time, the biblical prophets and Jewish sages over the past 2000 years have predicted that in the end times (at the coming of the Messiah), through a series of supernatural events, these tribes will be regathered and return to the land of Israel to be reunited with their Jewish brethren who are descended from the southern kingdom of Judah. Furthermore, there is clear biblical and historical evidence that the ten northern tribes of Israel collectively known as Ephraim are largely to be found among the Christian peoples scattered across the earth. I have attempted to prove this point from biblical, linguistic, archeological, historical and rabbinic Jewish sources in a previous work .
In these last days before Messiah’s second coming, more and more redeemed believers in Yeshua (the Hebrew name for Jesus) are discovering a new-found love for the Jewish people and the land of Israel. At the same time, they are awakening to the need to return to the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith by adhering to a more Torah-centered lifestyle and spiritual walk. It then follows that some are coming to the fundamental truth taught numerous places in the Testimony of Yeshua (the more biblically accurate name for the “New Testament”) that born-again believers are actually redeemed Israelites and are either the literal biological or are the “grafted in” descendants of Abraham. As such, many are beginning to see that the numerous promises YHVH (the LORD) made to Abraham and his descendants apply to them—especially the promises that the land of Israel is an important aspect of their promised future inheritance. With these revelations often comes a new-found zeal and enthusiasm about returning to the land of Israel. For many, it is a question of not if, but “when do we return?”
This is the question I will grapple with in the following study in attempting to determine the timing of the return of Ephraim to the land of Israel, often referred to as the second or greater exodus. This is a difficult and complex subject and many factors need to be considered. No one has all the answers and neither do I, but hopefully the presentation you are about to read will provoke thought and discourse that will move us all toward a greater understanding of this subject.
In this work, I will cover much ground in a panoramic manner without delving into the fine details of any one biblical passage. If my overall analysis is correct, then it is my hope that other biblical researchers will look at the evidence presented here and synergistically we can fine-tune the details and elucidate this subject.
Since there is no direct place in the Scriptures that tells us the exact year or date when Ephraim will be regathered and return to the land of Israel (although, many believe that the process will begin on a jubilee year), we must examine many prophecies and prophetic scenarios in order to extrapolate from them the answer to our question. Before we take the plunge, let’s review some fundamental biblical truths.
Ephraim’s Return to the Land of Israel Is a Fundamental Truth of the Torah
As the very words of YHVH Elohim (the LORD God) dictated to and written down by Moses, the Torah (the biblical books of Genesis through Deuteronomy) is the bedrock of biblical truth upon which the rest of biblical revelation is founded. This is the place to begin when discussing the timing of Ephraim’s return.
In Jewish thought, Deuteronomy 30:1–10 is the embryo from which all the other scriptures discussing Ephraim’s return are birthed. Here YHVH promises to gather Israel from all the nations where he has scattered them (because of spiritual apostasy), and he promises to return them to the land of Israel. This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled, and nor is it referring to the Jewish captives who returned from their 70 years exile in Babylonian, since the term “all nations” is used in this prophecy. The ancient empire of Babylon is not “all nations”!
Here is the prophecy in its entirety:
And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations, whither YHVH your Elohim has driven you, and shall return unto YHVH your Elohim, and shall obey his voice according to all that I command you this day, you and your children, with all your heart, and with all your soul; that then YHVH your Elohim will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion upon you, and will return and gather you from all the nations, wherever YHVH your Elohim has scattered you. If any of you be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will YHVH your Elohim gather you, and from thence will he fetch you: and YHVH your Elohim will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and he will do you good, and multiply you above your fathers. And YHVH your Elohim will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your seed, to love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, that you may live. And YHVH your Elohim will put all these curses upon your enemies, and on them that hate you, which persecuted you. And you shall return and obey the voice of YHVH, and do all his commandments which I command you this day. And YHVH your Elohim will make you plenteous in every work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your land, for good: for YHVH will again rejoice over you for good, as he rejoiced over your fathers: if you shall hearken unto the voice of YHVH your Elohim, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if you turn unto YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul. (emphasis added)
The Jewish Sages Affirm That Ephraim Will Return
The biblical prophets predicted that all the tribes of Israel (including the ten tribes of the northern kingdom or Ephraim) would be scattered to other lands outside of Israel, and that YHVH would regather them in the last days and return them to the land of Israel. This has also been the dominant belief of the Jewish sages as recorded in their writings and in their oral traditions including the Talmud. For example, the Scriptures tells us about the scattering of the twelve tribes,
And YHVH rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land [eretz acheret], as it is this day.” (Deut 29:28)
The Babylonian Talmud, in Yevamot 17a (written ca. A.D. 500, The Soncino Talmud) confirms this when it states,
“[T]hey had declared them [i.e., the ten tribes of Israel, see rabbinic footnote below]19 to be perfect heathens [or gentiles]; as it is said in the Scriptures, ‘They have dealt treacherously against YHVH, for they have begotten strange children.’” A rabbinic footnote on this passage states, (19) ‘The ten tribes; (20) Hos 5:7.’”
TheArtScroll Tanach Series Bereishis/Genesis (an Orthodox Jewish commentary on Genesis) states, regarding Genesis 48:19, quoting Orthodox Jewish sage of the Middle Ages, Ibn Ezra:
Many nations will descend from him [Ephraim]. That is, the word, fullness, melo, connotes ‘abundance,’ the phrase meaning: ‘and his seed will become the abundance of the nations’ (Neter; Karnei Or, p. 2121).
According to Radak’s (R. Dovid Kimchi, a Torah scholar in the Middle Ages) commentary on the same verse,
This refers to the Exile when the lands of others will be filled with his scattered descendants. See also Hoshea 7:8: Ephraim shall be mingled among the nations (Ibid.).
Pertaining to the end-time regathering of the twelve tribes, the late well-known orthodox Jewish leader, Menachem Schneerson stated that the future King Messiah (Messiah Ben [Son of] David) will not only redeem the Jews from exile, but will restore the observance of the Torah-commandments to its complete state, which will only be possible when the Israelites are living in the land of Israel. At this same time, Schneerson who is quoting the notable rabbinic sage of the Middle Ages, Moses Maimonides also known as the Rambam, says,
[T]here will be an ingathering of the dispersed remnant of Israel. This will make it possible for the Davidic dynasty to be reinstated and for the observance of the Torah and its mitsvot to be restored in its totality. (emphasis added)
According to Jacob Immanual Schochet, the ten tribes of the northern kingdom of Israel will also return (as substantiation for his claim, he cites b. Talmud, Sandhedrin 110b) to serve YHVH (he also cites Ezek 20:32–37, 40–42).
Furthermore, The ArtScroll Bereishis, vol. 1(b) states in its commentary on Genesis 48:19 regarding Ephraim,
R. Munk explains:
“[W]hile it is true that the dispersion [of the descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh] was caused by the unfaithfulness and sinfulness of Ephraim’s descendants (Hos 7:8ff), Jacob’s blessing was not in vain for ‘they will return to [Elohim]’ and will have their share in the world to come ([Talmud] Sanhedrin 110b).” And R. Eliezer adds: “Even the darkness in which the Ten Tribes were lost will one day become as radiant as the day’ (according to the version of Avos d’Rabbi Nosson 36). And in the perspective of history, did not these exiled children of the Patriarchs enlighten the nations among whom they were scattered? They did so by teaching their conquerors the fundamental ideas of the knowledge and love of [Elohim], ideals they had never forsaken. Hence they too have a messianic vocation and their Messiah the Mashiach ben Yosef, Messiah son of Joseph (Succah 52a), also called Messiah son of Ephraim (Targum Yonasan on Exodus 40:11), will play an essential role in humanity’s redemption, for he will be the precursor of the Mashiach ben David, Messiah Son of David. It is therefore not surprising to find that the prophet Jeremiah (3:12) speaks affectionately of Ephraim. In this light, Jacob’s words, ‘his offspring will fill the nations,’ assume the significance of blessing.”
In this video Nathan discusses how the end time prophetic implications of Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) in Leviticus 16 relate to the power of the blood of Yeshua (Leviticus 17) to carry the saints through the great tribulation mentioned in the book of Revelation, so that they will not succumb to physical and sexual sin (Leviticus 18 and Revelation 17 and 18) and acquiesce to the whore of Babylon, thus preventing them from being the virgin bride of Yeshua the Bridegroom at his second coming.
