Addressing the Homosexual (“Gay”) Movement From a Biblical Perspective

Leviticus 18:22, You shall not lie with mankind.(Also Lev 20:13) Some modern proponents of homosexuality claim that this verse, which has traditionally been taken to mean that the Bible prohibits homosexuality actually is speaking of cultic prostitution. The LXX clears up this misinterpretation when it describes the sin in question by saying, literally: as a man having sex with a man as he would a woman (kos an koimethe meta arsenos koithen gnaikos).

Today I looked at the headlines of a number of major internet news sources (as I do every day). These included both conservative and liberal news outlets as well the major mainstream media outlets along with some smaller, yet respectable news networks. I was amazed at how many headlined stories relating to “gay” issues I found. Some news sites actually had several stories on their front pages on the subject. This phenomenon is no longer a unique occurrence.

The fact is that even though homosexuals make up a tiny minority of the population, they get a disproportionate amount of news coverage. Whether the “gay” agenda is being pushed on the majority of Americans who are heterosexual or not by a vocal and powerful minority isn’t the issue. Rather, it’s that “gay rights” is a front and center issue in America’s culture war pitting the clash of traditional Christian values with the post-Christian, more morally loose, modern generation.

It’s obvious to see that government at all levels along with the public educational system, the major media and the entertainment industry are actively forcing homosexuality as a normative and acceptable behavior on the American people. Those trumpeting the homosexual cause have as their weapons punitive so-called antidiscriminatory laws, the threat of lawsuits as well as boycotts and other means of exerting social pressure. In their cross hairs are any who oppose them including organizations, businesses, churches, schools, or individuals who dare oppose them. Already, the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts have caved in to the pressure. The traditional family is being redefined by homosexual activists, as well as the concepts of “male” and “female.” Restrooms and locker rooms are now the new battlefield for those wanting to erase the lines between the sexes. Regardless of one’s stand on homosexuality, we have to deal with it. Ignoring this issue isn’t an option!

With the current lay of the cultural landscape in mind, I would now like to express my views on the subject of homosexuality from a loving, yet solid biblical position.

What the Bible Says About Homosexuality

It was the opinion of the early apostles at the first Jerusalem council to establish minimal requirements for those being given the right hand of church fellowship. Those who failed to meet those basic standards were excluded from participation in church life. This was the case with those living in all sexual sin including homosexuality (Acts 15:20).

Exclusion may not be a popular notion in our day where “inclusiveness” as part of the political and social atmosphere demands — even at times under the threat of punitive legal action — that Bible believers not only love the sinner, but unquestioningly accept the sin as well whether they want to or not.

Such isn’t the biblical norm. The Bible calls homosexuality a perversion and an abomination (Lev 18:22–23). YHVH’s people aren’t to involve themselves in the perverse practices of the nations such as homosexuality (Lev 18:24). Sexual perversion of any kind defiles a nation (Lev 18:24–25) and brings YHVH’s judgments against it (Lev 18:25, 28; Rom 1:18–27). Such people are to be cut off from the nation of Israel (Lev 18:29), and from entrance into the kingdom of Elohim (1 Cor 6:9–10). In modern times, cut off simply means exclusion from church fellowship, which is exactly how the Jerusalem council ruled.

Shame on President Trump and His Administration!

Let it be known that I, Natan Lawrence, am neither on the side of nor for or against any person, politician, church, denomination, religion political party, politician, ism or ideology whatsoever. Rather, I am on the side of Truth and righteousness as defined by the Bible, the Word of YHVH Elohim.

When a person, organization, political party or any other individual or group of individuals does something that lines up with the Truth of the Bible, then I am an agreement with them. When they don’t, then I am not. Period.

For me, the Bible, not the vicissitudinous tides and currents of social mores and the ever-changing whims and opinions of biblically ignorant individuals or outright God-hating heathens DO NOT determine what is right and wrong, only the divinely revealed Truth of the Bible.

I have been a supporter of President Donald Trump in many areas. I voted for him, and I may vote for him again. But in the case of his calling on nations that currently criminalize homosexuality to decriminalize this sin, I cannot support him, since the Bible, the Word of Elohim, criminalizes homosexuality. Period, end of discussion.

Remember this: YHVH Elohim and one person make a majority—the rest of the world not withstanding!

So on this issue,I say, shame on Donald Trump. Please pray that he has a change of mind on this issue. Pray that he will be surrounded not by lukewarm, compromising, sycophantic Christian admirers and so-called “advisors,” who only stroke his already too large ego by saying, “Live long, O king, and prosper,” but who, instead, have the moral fortitude and righteous zeal to call him to account when his actions are opposed to the Word of Elohim.

Amein!

NEW YORK — Two U.S. ambassadors hosted an event at the United Nations on Wednesday entitled “Decriminalizing Homosexuality in Solidarity with LGBTQ People.” The United States Mission to the United Nations released a statement outlining the event and noting President Trump’s commitment to the effort to legalize homosexuality worldwide.

Kelly Craft, the U.S. Ambassador to the UN, along with Richard Grenell, the U.S. Ambassador to Germany and an open homosexual, hosted the meeting, during which time they — and a number of panelists — discussed the status of their mission to decriminalize homosexuality in at least 69 countries.

According to Fox News, nations on the list include Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jamaica, Kenya, Senegal, Cameroon Antigua, Barbuda, Syria and Yemen. The outlet notes that 33 African countries recognized by the U.N. consider homosexual sex acts a crime. Punishments vary from nation to nation, from jail to time to the death penalty.ADVERTISING

“We need to have 69 different plans of action because we are dealing with 69 different countries. It is a long road,” Grenell stated. “The U.N. should be a place to hold countries accountable.”

“I want these countries to be called out! I want these countries to feel the pressure! This list should be read here every day,” he said.

Others on the panel included Robert Destro, the Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor; Stuart Milk, the executive director of the Harvey Milk Foundation and nephew to Milk; and Johnnie Moore, commissioner for the United States Commission for International Religious Freedom and former senior vice president for communications at Liberty University.

Trump administration starts campaign to end global criminalization of homosexuality

Please pray that YHVH Elohim reveals to President Trump the biblical view on the issue of homosexuality, and that he acts righteously in this regard. To appear to be promoting homosexuality is not good and is shameful at the very least. —Natan

BERLIN — The Trump administration is launching a global campaign to end the criminalization of homosexuality in dozens of nations where it’s still illegal to be gay, U.S. officials tell NBC News, a bid aimed in part at denouncing Iran over its human rights record.

U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, the highest-profile openly gay person in the Trump administration, is leading the effort, which kicks off Tuesday evening in Berlin. The U.S. embassy is flying in LGBT activists from across Europe for a strategy dinner to plan to push for decriminalization in places that still outlaw homosexuality — mostly concentrated in the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean.

“It is concerning that, in the 21st century, some 70 countries continue to have laws that criminalize LGBTI status or conduct,” said a U.S. official involved in organizing the event.

Narrowly focused on criminalization, rather than broader LGBT issues like same-sex marriage, the campaign was conceived partly in response to the recent reported execution by hanging of a young gay man in Iran, the Trump administration’s top geopolitical foe.

Grenell, as Trump’s envoy to Germany, has been an outspoken Iran critic and has aggressively pressed European nations to abandon the 2015 nuclear deal and re-impose sanctions. But while the Trump administration has had some success in pressuring Iran through stepped-up U.S. penalties, efforts to bring the Europeans along have thus far largely fallen flat.

Reframing the conversation on Iran around a human rights issue that enjoys broad support in Europe could help the United States and Europe reach a point of agreement on Iran. Grenell called the hanging “a wake-up call for anyone who supports basic human rights,” in Bild, a leading German newspaper, this month.

“This is not the first time the Iranian regime has put a gay man to death with the usual outrageous claims of prostitution, kidnapping, or even pedophilia. And it sadly won’t be the last time,” Grenell wrote. “Barbaric public executions are all too common in a country where consensual homosexual relationships are criminalized and punishable by flogging and death.”

He added that “politicians, the U.N., democratic governments, diplomats and good people everywhere should speak up — and loudly.”

Yet by using gay rights as a cudgel against Iran, the Trump administration risks exposing close U.S. allies who are also vulnerable on the issue and creating a new tension point with the one region where Trump has managed to strengthen U.S. ties: the Arab world.

In Saudi Arabia, whose monarchy Trump has staunchly defended in the face of human rights allegations, homosexuality can be punishable by death, according to a 2017 worldwide report from the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA). The report identified 72 nations that still criminalize homosexuality, including eight where it’s punishable by death.

That list includes the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and Afghanistan — all U.S. allies — although those countries aren’t known to have implemented the death penalty for same-sex acts. In Egypt, whose leader Trump has effusively praised, homosexual relations aren’t technically illegal but other morality laws are used aggressively to target LGBT people.

New U.S. pressure on those countries to change their laws comes as the Trump administration is working to use nascent ties between Arab nations and Israel to form a powerful axis against Iran, a strategy that dovetails with the administration’s planned rollout of an ambitious plan for Israeli-Palestinian peace.

Christian Teacher Gets Fired for Her Pro-Bible Facebook Post

In too many of our public educational institutions, anti-Christian and anti-Biblical speech along with expressing every perverse and ribald idea under the sun is permissible. At the same time,  exercising one’s freedom of speech in favor of biblical truth and values is not.

What’s wrong with this picture? Simply this. The devil and his gang have never been fair, and they hate the truth of Elohim. They’re evil, hypocritical liars who are intent on killing, stealing and destroying. Though they loudly beat the drum of civil  rights, they could care less about human rights such as freedom of speech.

Bottom line? They hate Elohim, his ways and his people, and will stop at nothing to trample on the rights of others to further their demonic agenda. To these devil-loving, atheistic secular humanists, the ends always justify the means. Period.

Yeshua said,

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44)

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

Bravo for this Christian teacher for standing up for truth and for exercising her right of free speech. May YHVH deliver her from the hands of her enemies!

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? (Ps 94:16)

NJ Gives Christian Teacher 3-Year Suspension After Facebook Post on Homosexuality

A Christian teacher in New Jersey is now serving a three-year suspension of her teaching certificates all because she posted critical remarks about homosexuality on social media.

Jeyne Viki Knox, a 56-year-old long time special educator and faculty adviser to the Bible club at Union High School, has come to an agreement with the state’s Department of Education on a proposal to have her three teaching certificates revoked for a period of three years.

Knox, who is an ordained minister, has held certificates for elementary school, nursery school and handicapped teaching since 1990, according to the Associated Press.

Knox’s troubles began in October 2011 when she took to Facebook to criticize a display at the high school honoring LGBT history month.

According to NJ.com, Knox participated in a back-and-forth with other Facebook users in which she reportedly called homosexuality a “perverted spirit” that also “breeds like cancer.”

“Why parade your unnatural immoral behaviors before the rest of us?” Knox was quoted as writing on Facebook. “I DO NOT HAVE TO TOLERATE ANYTHING OTHERS WISH TO DO. I DO HAVE TO LOVE AND SPEAK AND DO WHAT’S RIGHT!”

Knox was placed on administrative leave and about three months afterwards, the Union Township Board of Education filed a tenure case against her. Knox resigned from her position in 2012.

According to NJ.com, Knox’s agreement with the New Jersey Department of Education comes after she appealed the department’s decision to revoke her certificates to the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law. After filing an appeal against the department of education’s decision, Knox submitted the proposal to have her certificates suspended for only three years.

The agreement between the New Jersey Department of Education and Knox was officially approved by the New Jersey Board of Examiners on Dec. 8, NJ.com reported on Sunday.

Knox filed a lawsuit in 2013 against the Union Township Board of Education on grounds that her religious freedom rights and free speech were violated by the school board’s actions against her in response to her Facebook posts. Knox was seeking reinstatement and backpay.

A settlement was reached in the lawsuit in September, NJ.com notes. However, very few details about the settlement have been made publicly available.

Demetrios Stratis, an attorney representing Knox, said that the settlement includes a confidentiality agreement.

“These Facebook posts that she made were done on her time, at her home, after school hours, on her home computer, and it was addressing a matter that could arguably be of big societal concerns,” Stratis told NJ.com.

Although LGBT activists called on the school board to take action against Knox for her Facebook posts, even representatives of the American Civil Liberties Union defended Knox’s right to free speech.

“Although we do not agree with the sentiments expressed on Ms. Knox’s personal Facebook page, her comments are protected by the First Amendment,” Ed Barocas, the legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey, told NJ.com in 2011. “The ACLU believes that the response to offensive speech is not the restriction of speech, but more speech.”

Knox is not the only teacher in New Jersey who has faced backlash for posting what others have deemed to be “anti-LGBT” comments online.

In 2015, Patricia Jannuzzi, a religion teacher at the Roman Catholic Immaculata High School in Somerville, New Jersey, was suspended by the school in March 2015 after she posted about her opposition to same-sex marriage and ranted about the LGBT agenda.

However, Jannuzi was later reinstated in April 2015.

What Really Was the Sin of Sodom & How It Relates to Us

sodom

Genesis 18:20, Their sin [Sodom and Gomorrah’s] is very grievous. What was the sin of Sodom? Genesis 19:5 gives us the answer. The men of Sodom were so morally perverted that Paul says of such a human condition in Romans 1:24–29,

Wherefore Elohim also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of Elohim into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause Elohim gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature, and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain Elohim in their knowledge, Elohim gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness …

Ezekiel 16:49–50 speaks of the symptoms of a society that has given itself over to a spirit of sodomy (homosexuality) because it has become abundantly wealthy, proud and obsessed with idleness (entertainment and pleasure). As a result it has become inwardly focused and self-absorbed, which leads to an obsession with self-gratification instead of helping the poor and needy.

It shouldn’t be hard to see parallels between Sodom’s society before it was judged and the moral and spiritual decline we see occurring in America and the rest of the western world. America, for example, has become obsessed with the concept of pride—especially since September 11, 2001. Notice, for example, the many car bumper stickers expressing the idea of national “pride” since 9/11?

Not only that, our culture has also become obsessed with promoting “gay” (homosexual or sodomite) rights and agendas calling it “gay pride.” It’s Sodom all over again!

The Rainbow—A Double Edged Sword

rainbow

Genesis 9:13, Rainbow. The rainbow is a glorious symbol of two opposing spiritual realities and forces relating to Elohim’s righteousness and holiness. It speaks of his grace in that he will not bring the cleansing judgment of water on the earth again. At the same time, it speaks of his judgment against the evil of the pre-flood world.

When the modern homosexual movement has appropriated the rainbow as its symbol, it fails to realize that the rainbow is a double edged sword representing both the mercy and the judgment of Elohim. It’s both ironic and prophetic that in looking to this as their representative symbol, homosexuals are unwittingly recognizing and even declaring the ultimate judgments of a righteous and set-apart Elohim against man’s wickedness and rebellion including the sin of homosexuality.

Although Elohim promised to never again judge man for his wickedness through drowning him in water and at the same time cleansing the earth of man’s wickedness, he will, at the end of the age, judge men by fire and at the same time purify the earth of the wickedness men have committed on it (2 Pet 3:7 cp. Isa 51:6; Rev 20:15; Matt 25:41). Water only partially cleans the surface of things. Fire cleanses more deeply.

It is necessary for the earth to experience a deep cleaning in preparation for it to be a suitable habitation for Elohim and his glorified sons and daughters in the New Jerusalem on the new earth.
