Is Koran Burning Scriptural?

Question: In Acts 19:13–19 we read about a public book burning of occult books. The Scriptures commend this act and reveal that as a result, “the word of God prevailed.”

13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.  14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. 18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

In todays news we read the following:

Florida pastor arrested before he could burn 2,998 Korans

Associated Press

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/09/12/florida-pastor-arrested-before-could-burn-28-korans/?test=latestnews

I don’t know this pastor, but based on what I read in the Scriptures, and based on the fact the Koran is a demonic book (I have read it cover to cover), I for one will be praying for this  pastor. Will you join me?

In the mean time, take a look at one of my earlier posts entitled, “What the Koran Really Says,” at http://hoshanarabbah.org/blog/2013/06/01/what-the-koran-really-says/.

I am in no way advocating violence against Muslims. We are to love them along with everyone else for whom Yeshua died. As YHVH gives us the opportunity, we should share the gospel with them (along with all people) in a loving and powerful way as directed by the Holy Spirit. Many of them are enslaved in a demonic system and don’t know better. Pray for them.

At this point, the big question is this: If this were a Muslim cleric, or an atheist burning Bibles instead of Korans, would they be arrested? Would it make national headlines? Would anyone care besides Bible believers? I think you know the answer — sadly!

Guys, in our society, we all know that it’s open season on anyone or anything having to do with the Bible. The real enemy isn’t that human who is standing against Elohim and his Word, but the devil who is motivating them. Let’s never forget who that is!

Who Is the Revelation 12 Woman?

The Bride of Yeshua in the Wilderness

Who is the woman that is mentioned in Revelation 12 that is taken into the wilderness for three-and-one-half years (Rev 12:14), which occurs just before the second coming of Yeshua? I believe that is a reference to the end times saints who are the bride of Yeshua. (Not all saints are the bride of Yeshua. Some are foolish virgins [Matt 25:1–13], or lukewarm believers who will have to go through fiery trials to become approved of YHVH [Rev 3:14–21]. Some are still rebels in respect to his Torah [Ezek 20:37]. The end times bride will be Torah submissive [see Rev 12:17; 14:12].) Let’s explore some answers to this question.

When the Scriptures speaks of the wilderness (Heb. midbar), it is referring to anywhere outside of the land of Israel.

Wilderness

Ezekiel 20:33–41 says that YHVH will bring the house of Israel out of their captive nations with an outstretched arm and with fury poured out (in a time of YHVH’s judgments) (vv. 33–34, as when he brought them out of Egypt). YHVH will bring his people into “a wilderness of the people.” This could be a literal wilderness as with the children of Israel, or a spiritual wilderness in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation in which Israel is called to live and be a light. There he will plead with Israel face-to-face like he did in the wilderness of Sinai (vv. 35–36). This seems to be another reference to the second exodus (v. 36). In that wilderness, YHVH will purge out those who are rebels and those who transgress (or sin; i.e., violate his Torah, see 1 John 3:4) against YHVH (v. 38). This YHVH did with ancient Israel for 40 years. During this time of testing and purging, the house of Israel will not be returning to the land of Israel (v. 38) until they have put away their idols (v. 40), then all the house of Israel will be acceptable to YHVH and will serve him on his holy mountain (v. 40–41). Israel not to return until they loath their spiritual pollution (v. 42-44). Continue reading →

Who Are the 144K and Innumerable Multitude?

Here are some of notes from my Book of Revelation Commentary on the two groups of saints on earth during the great tribulation period, which happens before the resurrection and second coming.

These notes are simply my best understanding of these scriptures to this point. There is still more to learn on these subjects.

The 144,000 Saints Versus the Great and Innumerable Multitude

There are two groups of believers mentioned Revelation chapters 7 and 14. They are Yeshua’s 144,000 bride-priests and the carnal or lukewarm believers who get spiritually refined in great tribulation.

15536600

The 144,000 are spiritual virgins who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They are redeemed believers and first fruits of Elohim (Rev 14:4).

The 144,000 are without deceit or fault before YHVH’s throne of judgment (Rev 14:5). How can it be said that someone is without fault and be Torahless, since Torah defines sin (1 John 3:4)? Indeed, those who are the saints that make up the 144,000 must be Torah-observant and be walking under the blood of Yeshua (Rev 12:17; 14:12).

The meaning of the names of the patriarchs of the 12 tribes have a hidden message pertaining to the bride, which is more proof that the 144,000 are the bride of Yeshua.

  • Judah means “Now I will praise YHVH.” (Gen 29:35)
  • Reuben means “Surely YHVH has looked upon my affliction.” (Gen 29:32)
  • Gad means “What good fortune.” (Gen 30:11)
  • Asher means “Happy am I.” (Gen 30:13)
  • Naphtali means “With great wrestlings have I wrestled.” (Gen 30:8)
  • Manasseh means “For Elohim [said he], ‘has made me foreget all my toil.’” (Gen 41:51)
  • Simeon means “Because YHVH has heard that I was hated.” (Gen 29:33)
  • Levi means “Now this time will my husband be joined to me.” (Gen 29:34)
  • Issachar means “Elohim has given me my wages.” (Gen 30:18)
  • Zebulon means “Elohim has endowed me with a good gift, now my husband will dwell with me.” (Gen 30:20)
  • Joseph means “YHVH shall add to me.” (Gen 30:24)
  • Benjamin means “You shall have this son.” (Gen 35:17–18)

Combined the names tell the following story: Now will I praise YHVH. Surely YHVH has looked upon my affliction. What good fortune. Happy am I. With great wrestlings have I wrestled and I have prevailed. For Elohim has made me forget all my toil because YHVH has heard that I was hated. Now this time will my husband be joined unto me. Elohim has given me my wages. Elohim has endowed me with a good gift. Now my husband will dwell with me. YHVH shall add to me. You shall have this son. Continue reading →

Weekly Blog Scripture Readings for 9/8 through 9/14/13.

** A different Haftarah is read when it is a special sabbath in Jewish tradition. The Shabbat that falls between Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur is called “Shabbat Shuvah” or “Sabbath of Return/Repentance” and this special Haftarah is read on that day. On the calendar that begins the new year with the aviv barley and the sighting of the first sliver of the new moon, Shabbat Shuva would fall this week (a week later than on the traditional Hillel 2 calendar) and would be read for this week’s Haftarah.

Yom Teruah—The Day of Shofar Blowing or Shouting

On the evening of Saturday, September 7, 2013, the first sliver of the new moon will be spotted in the land of Israel, thus signaling the first day of the seventh month of the biblical calendar and the biblical feast of Yom Teruah or the Day of Shofar Blowing/Shouting. (If you’d like to learn more about the biblical calendar versus the traditional, non-biblical, Constantine-approved calendar of ca. A.D. 360 used by the modern rabbinic Jews, please see my studies on the subject at http://www.hoshanarabbah.org/teaching.html#feast.)

Happy Yom Teruah!

Yom Teruah—The Beginning of the Fall (End-Time) Harvest

Yom Teruah or the Day of Shouting; the Shofar Blasts (commonly called “Rosh Hashana”) occurs at the end of the summer months and marked the beginning of the fall harvest or festival season for the ancient Hebrews. Prophetically, the summer months between the spring feast of Shavuot/Weeks (Pentecost) and the fall feast of Yom Teruah is a spiritual picture of what is often called the “Church Age,” which is the period of time from the Feast of Pentecost in Acts 2 until the return of Yeshua the Messiah at the end of the age and lasting for approximately 2000 years. For many, especially those living in hotter climes, summer is a time of leisure, vacation, weariness and fatigue due to the excessive heat. Likewise, many Bible believers have fallen asleep growing spiritually weary while waiting for the return of the Messiah. Yeshua discusses this issue in the Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matt 25) who all grew weary and fell asleep awaiting the coming of the Bridegroom (Yeshua).

This all changes on the first day of the seventh month of the biblical Hebrew calendar when off in the distance the sound of a shofar blast suddenly pierces the atmosphere and registers in the eardrums of those who have fallen asleep. Not only does this shofar blast signal the beginning of the seventh month when the new crescent moon is sighted, but it announces the return of the Bridegroom (Yeshua) coming for his bride (the virgin saints).
