Unanswered Prayers? Consider This

Ecclesiastes 10:20 warns us, “Do not curse the king, even in your thought; do not curse the rich, even in your bedroom; for a bird [Heb. owf] of the air may carry your voice, and a bird [Heb. baal] in flight may tell the matter.” This verse is very revealing regarding what goes on in the unseen spiritual realm where Satan is the prince of the power of the air (Eph 2:2) and the ruler of this world (John 16:11).

The phrase in this verse is a parallelism—a form of Hebrew poetry where two phrases are juxtaposed and appear to be saying the same thing, but, in this case, a subtle spiritual truth is be being revealed in the second phrase. In the first phrase, the word for bird is a generic Hebrew word meaning “bird, winged creature, winged insect.” The second phrase reveals the subtle truth. It is telling us to be careful what you say or even think—even in private, for a god (or demon) might reveal it to it’s lord or king. In other words, a false god or demon spirit might convey what you’ve thought or said to its demon master, or even to Satan, who is the god of this age (2 Cor 4:4).

With regard to prayer we must remember this: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Eph 6:1). In light of this reality and with regard to prayer, it is vital that we remember this: When making intercession for situations or people or praying against the enemies of Elohim or engaging in spiritual warfare against Satan and his plans, ask YHVH to cover your prayers under the blood of Yeshua (Rev 12:11), to bind the (demonic) strong man (Matt 12:29; Mark 3:26–27 cp. Rev 20:2), to send his angels to protect you against the enemy’s plans to thwart your prayers (Ps 91:11–12; Heb 1:14), and to send confusion to our spiritual enemies (Ps 35:4, 26; 40:14; Jer 20:11).

It is essential that we employ this strategy against our spiritual adversary, so that he won’t be able to hear our prayers and thus be able to prepare a defensive plan or a punishing backlash against us to prevent our prayers from being effective. When he succeeds in this, the result is often unanswered prayers causing the saint to become discouraged, so that he prays less rather than more—a victory for the evil one.

Perhaps this is why some of our prayers go unanswered or seem ineffective; it is because we are inadvertently revealing our plans to the enemy thus allowing him to thwart them.

  1. Amazing insight. Ecclesiastes is definitely a wonderful and mysterious book. In the case of spiritual warfare I’ve often wondered if what you were saying could be true. Now I see and believe it is so important to watch what we allow our minds to think and whatch how our thoughts are cultivated into words. As precisely as the priests were called to watch who, what, where, and when they served father.
Sometimes when I’m praying. I feel prompted to speak silently to myself, to just think of my prayers. Then I often wonder. Can our enemies read our thoughts? Or is there that sanctified place in our minds where we can be alone in our holy of holy’s with father.

I also wanted to comment on the precise timing of this message.
I love the orchestrated messages that father plays through the musical instrument of your being Natan.

It’s clear to me now. The more you desire to know father. The more the battle is going to come to you. And the more prepared you have to be. In such away you have to watch what you say ever so closely. Watching what you do and when you speak, just as a craftsmen watches the wood he is carving take shape with every cut. As Yah draws us closer and closer. Thinking about every thought and bringing it under captivity before Yeshua. “The weapons we use in our fight are not the world’s weapons but YWVH powerful weapons, which we use to destroy strongholds. We destroy false arguments; we pull down every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of Elohim; we take every thought captive and make it obey Yeshua.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:4-5‬
I could go on and expand. But I will just say thank you father for giving us all what we need to get closer to you as we fight through our enemies to reach you and our world for YOU! Praise be to YWVH

  2. I don’t believe in unanswered prayer! I do believe the answer was either NO or Not at this time…that being said isn’t He that is in us greater than he that is in the world…that being said, it reminds me of a saying probably derived from scripture “a little birdie told me.” anyway I know that when I don’t feel like praying I’m to pray anyway and in doing so I have gotten up from my knees giddy with joy! also inspired me to write a poem that begins with “I didn’t feel like praying SO I got down on my knees!”

      • Okay, I looked up in Strong’s all the verses I thought you might refer to and all I can remotely see that might imply what you are saying might be Lam 3:8 or Prov 28:9, so please enlighten me.

  3. I love the comments of Timothy re Natans messages so timely etc …ECCLESIASTES ETC.

Natan u have raised some very important points in regard to prayer.

Prayer is one area where we need Lots of Wisdom….praying the fathers will in all situations ( Thinking of the Lords Prayer here & every word he says. That’s one eg. I guess not my will BUT HIS WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN ( SHAYAMIN) …I think strong warfare prayer is warranted when we are really in a spiritual battle.( I call it maintaining our spiritual position with the father thru the shed blood of Yeshua …isn’t the BLOOD OF YESHUA THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES US RIGHTEOUS BEFORE THE FATHERS THRONE ROOM & YESHUA SITS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FATHER IN THE HEAVENLIES & INTERCEDES ON OUR BEHALF……but I am reminded of the words THE BATTLE BELONGS TO ELOHIM….when the enemy comes in like a flood: Elohim raises up a standard against him.

I HAVE KNOWN DURING MY LONG WALK WITH THE FATHER …MAINLY THOSE THAT CALL THEMSELVES PENTECOSTALS OVER THE YEARS ; SOME OF THEM GET REALLY…that term militant ..& even yell & shout …I have witnessed that! …but if those persons who r warfaring are not in total surrender to the fathers will in the situation they can get very beaten up….and suffer what we would term as backlash in the spirit. ….so we have to be really led by the RUACH when praying in all situations.

  4. Thank you, Natan, for timely words. Thank you, also Timothy and Christine for your insights. I have often wondered lately why some prayers never seem to get answered…..and I know I am praying according to YHVH’s will. In light of Mark 11:22-25; John 12-14; as well as many other verses where Yahshua says He will answer us and produce fruit so the Father is glorified, your post makes perfect sense. And you have given me tools for my arsenal against the enemy…..thank you!
