Covid Confusion Vs. the Wisdom from Above—Who Are YOU Listening to?

Are you fed up with the conflicting and contradictory news and information coming out about the Covid “pandemic?” So am I, and here’s what you can do about it.

Two thousand years ago, Yeshua our Messiah made two interesting prophetic predictions about conditions on this earth just prior to his second coming:

But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matt 24:37)

So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. (Rev 12:15)

What did he mean by these predictions, and what do they have to do with the Covid pandemic that is currently sweeping across the world bringing confusion, fear and destruction in its wake? Let’s now explore this interesting question to find out what our reaction needs to be in light of the flood of words that is spewing forth from countless sources related to this pestilence.

We live in the so-called information age. We receive news and information from many sources. When I was growing up, news and information about world events that were occurring primarily came through only three limited sources: the printed word (newspapers and magazines), radio and television. Now we have many sources, and all of these sources are instantly accessible from our hand-held electronic devices.

When I was a kid, every morning my dad would get up at 5 AM and immediately turn on the radio news. I’d hear the sounds of it wafting up form the kitchen just below my attic bedroom of our old farmhouse. At noon I’d listen to the legendary Paul Harvey give his  new report, and then at 5 PM I’d listen to Lowell Thomas’ World News Round Up. Then every evening, like a religion, we’d gather around the black and white television and watch Uncle Walter Cronkite and the CBS evening news. Of course, our local daily newspaper, the Oregonian, was always in our paperbox by about 5 AM every morning. I read the news every day along with the comics (which we called the funnies) of which I was a fanatical and avid follower. Eventually I even became a writer for the Portland Oregonian newspaper.

Now I no longer have a television set and I never listen to the radio anymore (I can’t stand the advertisements!), but I’m still a news addict. Even now, every morning and evening I still check my internet news sources (about 30), and I still listen to talk radio news podcasts while I’m at work almost every day to keep up with the latest news and views.

However, my view about all these news sources is beginning to change and the necessity to listen to them religiously. I’m getting absolutely fed up and sick and tired of all the hearsay that passes for news, all the slander and libel, all the fake news, all the lies, all the important news that is often overlooked, all the silly stuff that is reported that passes for news. Much of it, in reality, is nothing more than a slight-of-hand distraction to fool the masses away from what’s really going on in the world. Add to this all the pro-leftist and Marxist, pro-perversion, secular humanist, God-hating, Antichrist, Bible-bashing slant in the mainstream news outlets and it becomes intolerable. I can’t take it anymore! I’m now mostly listening to music and audiobooks.

I’m wondering if I need to break this lifelong addiction to the news. Is there such a thing as Newsoholics Anonymous? I’m beginning to think that I’m relying more on information form below than from above. What do I mean by this, and what does the Bible have to say about this? (We’ll discuss this idea more later.)

Let’s now get more specific when it comes to the current news events that are forefront in everyone’s mind right now. Let’s discuss the supposed current Covid pandemic. This is important since there is so much conflicting information from the supposed experts that it’s impossible to know who or what to believe anymore. These are some of the questions that many critically thinking people are asking themselves:

  • Does wearing masks help or harm a person?
  • How contagious is this disease? How does it really spread?
  • Are as many people really dying as they are telling us? Are they dying from other causes that are being counted as Covid deaths to inflate the numbers? What is the real death rate? How many people are actually recovering? What is the morbidity rate?
  • Which experts do you listen to, can you trust since so many of them are contradicting each othrer?
  • Will a vaccine help or hurt a person. How effective will it be?
  • Why are whole economies being shut down because of Covid and people’s businesses and lives being ruined?
  • Why are healthy people being quarantined instead of just the infectious and sick people?
  • Why are those pushing the vaccines also those who stand to profit the most financially from these vaccines?
  • Where should I go, what activities are safe for me to do or not do?
  • Is this whole Covid thing a fulfillment of end times Bible prophecies about plagues, wars and famines?
  • This this pandemic a satanic, New World Order/Babylon the Great plot to depopulate the planet?
  • Could forced vaccines lead to the mark of the beast implant mentioned in Revelation 13?
  • Are the big pharmaceutical companies’ along with various governments’ pushing for vaccines a fulfillment of Revelation 18 and the famous pharmakeia or drug-sorcery prophecy (Rev 18:23)?

The questions we have about this worldwide Covid crisis are never-ending leading to confusion, fear and even irrationality and hysteria among some people.

Let’s now turn to the Bible, the Word of Elohim, our firm foundation and our rock of ages, for some answers, since men don’t seem to have any answers and all they’re offering us is conflicting news and fear-engendering confusion piled high and deep like a barnyard dung heap. I for one refuse to give in to fear, irrationality and hysteria. I also refuse to be manipulated by men and their ungodly propaganda. I want truth and there’s only one source for that! We need the Holy Spirit from Elohim to lead and guide us.

Now let’s return to the end times prophecy in the book of Revelation about Satan spewing water out of his mouth like a flood. What is this prophecy really saying and what does it have to do with the Covid crisis? In the Bible, water is a Hebraism or biblical metaphor for words.

Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, as raindrops on the tender herb, and as showers on the grass. (Deut 32:1–2)

After my words they did not speak again, and my speech settled on them as dew. They waited for me as for the rain, and they opened their mouth wide as for the spring rain. (Job 29:22)

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,  so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (YHVH speaking, Isa 55:10–11)

When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. (Yeshua speaking, John 9:6)

…that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word…(Eph 5:26)

From this scriptures, we learn that water can be a biblical metaphor for words. We also need to know that there are three sources of words: those from Elohim, from men and from Satan. There are also good words and bad words, that is, good words from Elohim, both good and evil words from men and Satan. The words that come from men and Satan are from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. These words contain both good and evil. Think of the seducing words of the snake in the tree that caused the first humans to rebel against the words of Elohim which was man’s first sin. By contrast, the words that come from Elohim are from the tree of life and are only good, light or Truth.

Now let’s get back to the words of Yeshua which are light and truth. Again, as noted earlier, pertaining to the last days, he prophesied,

But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matt 24:37)

So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. (Rev 12:15)

What on earth can we learn from Noah that has anything to do with the last days? Well, check this out. The Bible tells us that the waters that flooded the world in Noah’s day gushed up from out of the bowels of the earth and rained down from heaven (Gen 7:11). Water can be a biblical metaphor for the spoken word (e.g. Deut 32:2; Isa 55:10–11; John 9:6; Eph 5:26); namely, it represents both the Word of Elohim from above, and the word (philosophies, thoughts, ideas, religions) of man that are counter to the Word of Elohim that have their source from below. In the last days, knowledge shall be increased, the devil shall spew out of his mouth deceptive words or philosophies like a flood in an effort to spiritually drown the world and even the saints through deception (Rev 12:15; Matt 24:14). Water can also be a judgment against men. YHVH will judge men for their words, philosophies and religions. Those who followed YHVH’s Word from heaven will be spared his wrath, while those who have subscribed to the words or philosophies of men from below will perish or be judged in a sea of men’s words that are often founded on doctrines of demons. Those who feed spiritually from the tree of knowledge (i.e. secular humanism and all the false religions and ideologies that have spawned from it) will die, while those who feed spiritually from the tree of life or the word of Noah (i.e. a prophetic picture Yeshua), the preacher of righteousness (i.e. the Torah, see Ps 119:172 and 2 Pet 2:5) will live. In the last days, the Word of YHVH will judge men, for when Yeshua returns to the earth on his white war stallion, the sword of the word of Elohim will be coming out of his mouth with which he will judge the nations (Rev 19:11–15).

So now whose words are we going to listen to? The words that come from above or those that come from below? Elohim, other humans or the devil or a combination of the last two or what? It’s time to start detuning from the airwaves of Satan and this world and start tuning into the airwaves, if you will, of the Word and Spirit of Elohim. As we read in the Epistle of James,

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. (Jas 3:13–17)

Now is the time to go deeper into our relationship and walk with Yeshua the Messiah through the Spirit of Elohim in accordance with his written word, and to be led by YHVH Elohim as to what to think and do. We must stop fully relying on our own understanding and on the flood of  words that is coming from the world and the devil that will sweep us away in fear and hysteria if we’re not careful. These are the last days before the coming of our Messiah, and the Bible prophesies that many crazy and horrendous things will be occurring on this earth. Only by following YHVH’s instructions day-by-day will we be in his perfect will for our lives and under the shadow of his wings of protection!

Trust in YHVH with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear YHVH and depart from evil. (Prov 3:5–7)

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (Yeshua speaking, John 10:27)

So whose voice are you listening to? The world, the flesh and devil or that of Yeshua the Messiah?

For Elohim has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7)

  1. Ephesians 2:2 comes to mind. I once heard a theory that Satan broadcasts, much like radio or tv in the air. A frequency or wave length. Even light has certain frequencies. Maybe this covid nonsense really has to do with a frequency of Satan and his demons. A precursor of the things to come.

  2. PraiseYHVH, I am so thankful that His Word is what I rely on ! I’m a widow if. 2 1/2 years now, married 54 years, I married him coming from my parents home. So, I was never alone, now I rely on, trust and run to my Messiah for Everything. A learning
    experience for sure.

I am not afraid for Yeshua is with me. The Word you gave today is Good and True!
    Thank you.

  3. I’m reminded of the scene in Fiddler on the Roof where Tevye the milkman tells one man he’s right, then tell the other conflicting opinion he’s right to which the 3rd man replies, “he’s right AND he’s right? They can’t both be right!” To which Tevye says “You know, you’re also right!” The so called experts (science so called (1Tim 6:20) don’t even agree. Remember them telling us one week how bad eggs are to eat and the next week they were okay to eat-what happened to the eggs? Nothing! I also grew up in the 50’s and recall many of the things you mentioned-ah, simpler times, yet we were forewarned-which is forearmed! Words are very powerful-we were created by a WORD! We used to chase information, now it chases us! According to Dr. Rashid Buttar, the police and the army are aware of the current situation and the HR6666 mandatory vaccination bill direct from the Bill Gates of hell and he says they won’t enforce it-even Fauci said we can’t violate people’s rights like that-we will see. And now the “cancel culture” anarchists!
If the leaf of the tree was given for medicine by our Creator, then that tells me there are natural cures so I will trust Him for my healing, and not man. As I’ve said before. even if I die, I’m healed this side of the grave or the other.

  4. Great article, Natan. It never occurred to me, that the flood in Revelation could mean a flood of words from the adversary. Now, it seems crystal clear! Certainly the ‘covid’ news are flood-like, taking over all the news channels etc.
So far, our life has hardly changed during this pandemic, since we live in the country side and don’t go out very often. We feel very blessed, as ‘covid’ has been financially beneficial for us, because our government has given us pensioners extra money to activate the economy. We also had the benefit of seeing our grandchildren more often since we had to look after them while schools were closed. All around, we feel that Elohim is looking after His own.
Blessings to all who love Him,
    Sonja

  5. Dear Natan,
Being a ‘Watchman on the Wall’, as it seems you are, it is important to know what is going on in the world. We are told in Scripture to keep watch and interpret the signs of the time. That means, its not the right time to bury our head in the sand and become a Newsaholic Anonymous, but instead be informed of the enemies schemes etc. and help others to understand, which you have obviously dedicated your life to do. We ourselves are also watching a lot of news despite all the nonsense that is interspersed in it. I suppose, the enemy is trying to wear us down, so that we loose our focus.
Thank you for being a watchman and a teacher of the Truth.
May Adonai bless you and your family
    Sonja
