From the Mail Bag: Did Yeshua Encourage His Disciples (and Us) to Receive a Kundalini Spirit?—Updated

A very interesting email came into the comments section of this blog today. I respond to this strange comment below. — Natan

Rob writes:

Jesus said “be wise as serpents and gentle as doves” there he is describing kundalini, caduceus, feathered serpent, etc. The hebrew word for serpent is “seraph”, as in angel.

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:14-15)

So snake also represents immortality, born again, resurrection, etc. by shedding skin. Below is talking about 3rd eye or pineal gland or eye of ra…look at the structure inside your brain.

“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22)

Look at picture of jesus sacred heart where his heart is on fire. That is heart chakra. Turn your heart from stone to flesh and circumcize your heart.

The hebrew for “david” is “nun” which means fish in aramaic and, in egyptian, means snake or seed (life).

So not only did jesus teach kundalini, it is the holy spirit itself.

This is a very interesting comment, in fact one of the more unusual one’s that this blog has received in a while. Normally I wouldn’t let this comment come through because of its blasphemous content, but I want to take this opportunity to make a brief critique of it as an example of the subtle inversion lies that the Satan the devil-serpent has foisted upon the minds of many well meaning, yet gullible and misguided people who neither know the Scriptures very well nor are able to separate the wheat of truth from he chaff of error.

I will now parse this comment out and hold it up to the light of the Word and Spirit of YHVH Elohim. (This is actually fun entertainment for me!)

Is the Kundalini Spirit from the Set-Apart Spirit of Elohim or a Satanic Counterfeit?

The kundalini (a Hindu concept) or serpent spirit (in Greek, puthon or python; see Acts 16:16) is a demon or fallen spirit that is trying to inhabit a human body. It goes back to the worship of Baal in the biblical land of Canaan and the religion of the fallen ones or nephilim of Genesis 6:4–6, who worshipped Satan, whom the Bible likens as a serpent (Gen 3:1; Rev 12:9, 14–15; 20:2 cp. Isa 27:1). YHVH Elohim (the God of the Bible) was so opposed to the religion Baal, of which serpent worship or the mysterious Brotherhood of the Snake was an integral part, that he instructed the Israelites to perform genocide on these Satan worshipers who were squatting in the Promised Land. To this day, the serpent spirit is a very rebellious, wicked and perverse spirit that Scripture reveals that Elohim hates. Notwithstanding,  it is alive and well on earth today including in the Christian church.

Sadly, this same serpent spirit has wormed its way into much of modern Charismatic and Pentecostal Christianity such that many people who believe that they’ve received the Holy Spirit have, in fact, received an unholy or serpent spirit. Such a spirit is demonstrably manifested in the snake-like bodily antics and gyrations that occur when people are overcome by this spirit masquerading as the Holy or Set-Apart Spirit of Elohim.

This kundalini or serpent spirit is an example of the subtle inversion lies that Satan the devil-serpent has foisted upon the minds of many well meaning, yet gullible and misguided people who neither know the Scriptures very well nor are able to separate the wheat of truth from he chaff of error, which is preached in the name of Jesus from many church pulpits. This inversion occurs when Satan takes the truth of Elohim (such as the legitimate gifts of the Spirit and Elohim’s genuine signs and wonders) and turns the whole thing on its head by producing counterfeits that seem so real that many saints including some pastors, evangelists and Bible teachers are deceptively sucked in to believing the lie.

Such was occurring in the days of Yeshua’s apostles where Paul the apostle says of those who come in the name of Yeshua, yet in reality are false teachers and grievous wolves,

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. (2 Col 13–15)

What Paul is saying here is that there are those who purport to teach the truth of the Bible, but they are actually repeating the lies of the devil, and that these lies seem so close to the truth that they appear actually to be truth to those who are gullible, naive and misguided. It’s like the proverbial counterfeit dollar bill that looks and feels like the real thing, but is patently phony. If this was occurring in Paul’s day, then how much more so in our day just prior to the second coming of the Messiah, when the Bible prophesies that Satan, in his last-ditch effort to conquer and rule the entire world before his ultimate defeat at the hands of the Messiah, will be doing his best to deceive the whole world?

So what did Yeshua have to say about this so-called serpent or kundalini spirit? Did Yeshua the Messiah encourage his disciples to receive a kundalini serpent spirit by aligning the chakras (or energy centers) in their body, resulting in the coiled serpent of the kundalini spirit to rise up out of one’s groin area, thus opening up one’s so-called third eye to bring spiritual “enlightenment” as Hinduism and other eastern and New Age religious practitioners teach? Those who say that Yeshua did encourage this will use Scriptures such as John 3:14–15 and Matthew 6:22 as their prooftexts. These Scripture passages cannot mean this for several reasons, which we will now discuss.

Perhaps the strongest passages in the Gospels showing Yeshua’s disfavor of a serpent spirit is found in Luke chapter eleven. There we Yeshua declares to his disciples (that’s you and me!),

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:9–13, emphasis added)

Here Yeshua clearly declares that he DOES NOT give his children a serpent spirit or a scorpion when they’re seeking good spiritual gifts from the hand of their Father in heaven. In Yeshua’s mind, the words serpent and scorpion are metaphors for anything that is demonic. How do we know that his is what he meant? It is clearly for these reasons. First, he made his statement while casting out demons (Luke 11:14–15). This was the situational context of the discussion. He then goes on to talk about the kingdom of Satan and to discuss demon possession in people (vv. 16–26). Could anything be clearer? Yeshua doesn’t give serpent spirits to those seeking him; such a spirit is demonic and originates from Satan the devil, to whom Scripture likens as a serpent (Gen 3:1; Rev 12:9, 14–15; 20:2)!

Next, to Yeshua, a serpent or scorpion was a symbol or metaphor for those things that are of the demonic realm. Moreover, in the process of preaching the gospel and expanding the kingdom of Elohim, he gave his disciples power over these evil powers of the devil by casting them out of people. This we see in an exchange between Yeshua and his disciples in the Gospel of Luke where he uses the terms serpent and scorpion as metaphors for demonic activity in the lives of humans.

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:17–19, emphasis added)

A little earlier before sending his disciples out, he gave them power and authority over all demons, which included any serpent spirits that they might encounter.

Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. (Luke 9:1–2)

Finally, in his final instructions to his disciples before ascending to heaven, he had this to say to his disciples:

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15–18, emphasis added)

Here in what is commonly called the Great Commission, Yeshua clearly links casting out demons with picking up deadly serpents. Common sense tells us that Yeshua isn’t telling his disciple to literally and purposely go out and pick up snakes in the process of preaching the gospel. However, if, while in the mission field we happen to inadvertently encounter a deadly snake, as Paul did while on the island of Malta, Yeshua promised divine protection (Acts 28:1–6). This promise of divine protection would also include his disciples inadvertently eating any poisonous or poisoned food while spreading the gospel.

As we have seen so far, to say that any Scripture advocates a saint of Elohim embracing a serpent spirit is ludicrous. There are several more reasons why this is true, which we will now discuss.

First, one can cherry pick verses out of the Bible and out of their context and cobble them together to make the Bible say just about anything they wants. Let’s put this same shoe on your foot. How to you like it when someone takes something you’ve said out of context to make it appear that you said something you never said? Don’t you feel like you’re being lied about and that your words are being twisted? This is exactly what people are doing with the Bible, the Word of Elohim, who say that Yeshua advocated reception of a Satanic kundalini spirit.

Secondly, how is it possible that humans should follow Satan the serpent, the one who the Bible declares led humans into sinful rebellion against the Word of Elohim (Gen 3:1–7), and was subsequently cursed by the Creator for this evil deed (Gen 3:14–15)? How is it possible that Yeshua the Messiah, the one who came to crush the serpent’s head (Gen 3:15) and to destroy the works of Satan the devil (1 John 3:8), the one who defeated Satan in the wilderness and said, “Get behind me Satan,” (Matt 4:1–11), and who called Satan a liar, a murderer and a thief (John 8:44; 10:10), who defeated Satan at the cross, disarmed him and made of him an open spectacle (Col 2:15), the one who will defeat Satan and his minions at the battle of Armageddon and then throw the same devil into the bottomless pit for one thousand years, and then after that into the lake of fire (Rev 19:19–20:1–10) also be advocating that his followers submit themselves to a satanic kundalini spirit? This is not possible, unless one believes that what the Bible has to say about anything and everything is a hapless humanly contrived joke! I don’t believe this!!

Thirdly, Yeshua told his disciples to judge everything on the basis of righteousness (John 7:240). What is righteousness? The Bible defines righteousness as obedience to Elohim’s Torah-law or commandments (Ps 119:172). As such, the Torah flatly prohibits the saints from following the unbiblical and satanic practices of the heathens, who practice such things as witchcraft, sorcery and all manner of other evil practices including acquiescing to the kundalini serpent spirit.

Fourthly, Yeshua told his disciples to judge all things on the basis of its fruits to determine whether something is good or evil (Matt 7:15–20).  In this Scripture passage, he is specifically telling us to beware of false prophets and is instructing his followers how to tell the true from the false (Matt 7:15). So, putting to practice the teaching of Yeshua in this area, what are the fruits of those who are involved in the kundalini spirit? All you have to do is go to India and view what the fruits of Hinduism have been in that nation for millennia! Need we say anymore? Next, go a little deeper and look at the gurus, swamis and other Hindu religious teachers including what they teach and their loathsome lifestyles. What are the spiritual fruits of their lifestyle like? Are all of the fruits of the Spirit as defined in Galatians 5:22–24 evident in their lives and in the lives of their disciple, or are we more likely to see the converse: the works of the flesh as outlined in the same chapter verses 19–21? The works of the flesh are simply another way of delineating a Torahless or sinful lifestyle, while the fruit of the Spirit is the evidence of a Torah-obedient lifestyle. Again, the Torah prohibits involvement in witchcraft, sorcery, necromancy, idolatry, the worship of false gods, licentious sexual practices (all things which Hinduism advocates), and forbids the people of Elohim from learning and practicing the religions of the heathens including following and worshiping Satan the devil, that old serpent and his demons and evil spirit. Make no mistake, Hinduism and the kundalini spirit fits the description of those things that the Bible speaks against and prohibits.

Much more could be said on this subject, but we’ll leave it here for now by quoting a last days warning from Yeshua the Messiah,

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. … And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. … Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matt 24:4–5, 12–13, 23–24)

Next, let’s ask the question why people are so gullible and naive to believe such obvious lies that Yeshua the Messiah promoted the concept of a kundalini spirit. The Bible has some interesting things to say about this.

Over the decades of studying the Bible, I have observed how many people are able the Bible say whatever they want to justify the idolatrous concepts that they hold dear in their minds and hearts. Whole religious systems and theologies have been constructed around such concepts deceiving millions of people. The Bible calls these unbiblical concepts delusions, for they cause us to see the Bible in a certain light, that is, to twist the Scriptures to fit our preconceived sinful blinders and notions. For example, if one is a homosexual and cannot shake this sinful stronghold from their heart and mind, then they will twist the Scriptures to justify their sin, while ignoring and misinterpreting the Scripture that forbid homosexuality. There are whole churches full of sexual deviants that have convinced themselves that the Bible justifies this abomination, when in fact it does not.

Here is another example of a spiritual delusion. I once met a witch who practices so called white witchcraft, while adamantly claiming to be a Christian. I couldn’t convince her otherwise. Many other examples could be given of those who twist the Word of Elohim to make it say what they want it to say to justify their delusions, which are the spiritual glasses they are wearing when they read the Bible.

Another example of a delusion is the notion that the Torah-law was done away with and isn’t for Christians today. If you believe this, then these are the glasses that you will be wearing when you sit down to read your Bible. They will cause you to filter out and to ignore the Bible passages that command adherence to seventh day Sabbath, the biblical feasts and the biblical dietary laws and to believe that these law are no longer for you, even though the Bible no where teaches the abrogation of YHVH’s Torah-law.

Such beliefs that are contrary to Scripture are actually examples of acquiescing to a spirit of delusion. Isaiah the prophet talks about this with regard to those who have strayed from the truth of the Bible and now believe deluding lies (Isa 66:4). For those who don’t fear YHVH and tremble before his Word (Isa 66:2), YHVH will actually send them deluding or lying spirits. Why? Because such people already have idols in their hearts as Ezekiel points out, which cause them to stumble into iniquity (literally perversity or evil) or sin (Ezek 14:4). This is because they want to sin and don’t want to obey the Word of Elohim. As a result of their rebellion against Elohim and his Word, he will send them corrective judgments. That is to say, they love their sinful delusions so much, and refuse to repent and come into alignment with the Word of Elohim that he will actually cause their idolatrous delusions to rise up and to destroy them. This is a form of his judgment against their sin.

For what reason does Elohim do this? To destroy them? No. To bring them hopefully to repentance. When he “spanks” them, and they feel the pain of their sin, perhaps they’ll wake up from their spiritual stupor and delusions, repent of their rebellious and sinful ways and turn back to him. This is why wise and loving parents discipline their children; it’s for their ultimate good to wake them up to the error of their hurtful and sinful ways and to bring them back to the path of righteousness and blessing. Such discipline from Elohim or a parent is called a judgment unto repentance.

An example of YHVH actually sending a lying spirit to one of his wayward children who refused to obey him is found in 2 Chronicles 18:22. Here the wicked King Ahab refused to obey Elohim, so Elohim actually dispatched a lying spirit from heaven to teach Ahab a lesson. The king refused to heed the warning and to repent of his evil heart, and it ended up costing him his life.

In these end times, such Satanic lying delusions will actually come upon the whole world such that it will even cause many saints to fall away from the truth of the Bible. In Biblical prophetic circles this is called “the great falling away,” and it’s orchestrated by the man of sin who is an agent of the Satan who uses lying signs and wonders to delude the people of Elohim away from the simple truth of the Bible (2 Thess 2:1–12). The kundalini spirit of Hinduism is an example of such a deluding spirit. Don’t fall for it!

  1. See,this is why we need discernment (and teachers like you, Natan) I found a few verses applicable to this subject: 2Tim.2:15, Mal 3:18, Prov. 7:7, 1Cor.2:14 and 1Cor.12:10.

  2. Just reading this post now.. few weeks ago I was sent a video link from a dear fellow believer in Idaho.Sent this link to a video warning by Andrew Strom – a New Zealander ? I believe.. Andrew gives his testimony why he came out of/ fled from the false charismatic churches that were teaching re false manifestations in the so called church – Sunday ones ..names like Todd Bentley etc.. his warning was re the Kundalini invasion- How it happened.

this is well worth listening to watching- why No Believer should be deceived by this Kundalini spirit invading the churches. and NEVER TO PARTAKE OF IT.

    • I watched this video and agree with Andrew Strom in nearly everything he said. All that was lacking in the video was Scripture to back up what he was saying. Perhaps he ties his assertions to Scripture elsewhere. We need to back everything up with the Word of Elohim, or else what we are saying just sounds like another human opinion.

I had the same concerns in the early to mid-1990s as Strom when so-called revival broke out in Toronto. I was new in the Spirit in those days, but something just ring true about it, so I began studying the true revivals of the 1770s in England and America, then those in the 1800s in England and America and then the Pentecostal revivals of the early 20th century, and compared them to the revivals of the Bible and the preaching of the biblical prophets and came to the conclusion that these modern revivals were largely counterfeit. I came to the same conclusion as Strom. These “revivals” didn’t meet the higher standards of true biblical revivals. We even left a church that was promoting this stuff. Eventually, I got so disgusted over this Charismania that I left the mainstream church system, and this was part of my coming back to my Hebraic Torah roots that I was born and raised in.

  3. Is everyone aware it is not only the Hindus who practice this worship of the serpent?? Those who are into Kabbalah (zohar)also those of certain Judaism worship what is known as the holy serpent. Research those who in Judaism who would push the Noahide laws. It is already in the works as part of the NWO.
Just a heads up. I know Abba is in control but never the less it is very concerning.

    • Yes, serpent worship goes back to the ancient Canaanite religions and spread from there. Actually it goes back to the Garden of Eden. In my current discussion, we were focusing only on the Hindu kundalini aspects of serpent worship.

  4. Our Australian Aboriginals worship a rainbow serpent as the creator (sounds a bit gay to me).
Totally in agreement with your answer Natan to Rob’s comment.
    John

  5. “Do not answer a fool according to his folly,
else you also will be like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, elsehe will be wise in his own eyes.” Proverbs 26:4-5

Thank YOU for taking the time to write a rebuttal to this pernicious misleading interpretation of the Word of God. That comment illustrates the seduction spirit that has been spreading around: lies peppered with a semblance of truth.
