Free Torah Portion Studies/Commentary

Some of you may not be aware of the fact that I have free published and downloadable weekly Torah study guides that are ideal for individual and group Bible studies. I have both an adult and a young person’s study guide. Both are available at https://www.hoshanarabbah.org/parshiot.html.

  1. I have JUST discovered them and they are fantastic! THANK YOU so much! Your treasures are great in Heaven! Yah bless you on earth as well.

  2. Thanks for the quick reference. Just in time for Shabbat. This will surely help our family learn and stay on track along with the Torah portions on the blog. This helps those of us who don’t have a fellowship. Filling Sabbath with praise, worship and learning his word. My wife is also leading our learning of Hebrew. Bless YAH. For you my brother and all his servants that are so loyal. We love our new friends and family! Amen

  3. Thanks for your obedience to Yah brother. Watched your interview on the Way many times. Just felt led to connect this time.

  4. Dear Natan,
We just studied Parashat Vayeitzei and cannot understand why it says in the study that 1800 years later, the temple would be standing on the very place that Jacob called Bethel and Yeshua would be crucified there. Scripture states that the Temple was built in Jerusalem and Yeshua was crucified just outside of Jerusalem?
I can only find in Judges 20:27 that the ark of the covenent was in Bethel at a particular time.
Also, I was confused to read in the same study on page 5 that ‘Adonai’ was translated as YHVH where He introduces Himself to Jacob. I am aware, that God’s Name YHVH has been regularly substituted by Adonai; however, in this particular instance, I wonder whether God really introduced Himself with His Name YHVH since in Exodus 6:2-3 God says: I appeared to Avraham, Yitz’chak and Ya’akov as El Shaddai, although I did not make myself known to them by my name, YHVH.
Perhaps, because Moshe knew His name and he wrote it all down like that?

    • As far as the name Bethel, there are several in the Bible. This causes confusion. There were two towns by that name, and then there is the place where, according to Jewish tradition (with which I agree) YHVH would place his name and his temple or the house of El (i.e. Beth-el), which is different from the town by the same name. In my Torah commentary, I’m referring to the place where El would eventually place his house (or Beth), and not to the towns by the same name. Again, according to Jewish understanding, Beth-El corresponds to Moriah (or the mountains of Moriah)—what is now called the Temple Mount. You are free to disagree, but this is my belief based on my biblical studies.
