The Cosmic Battle for the Soul of America and the Emergence of the Underground Church in America

Why is it that there seems to be an all out war by local, state and federal government (all three branches) as well as our educational, major media, most major entertainment outlets and many of our social institutions against the traditional values of this nation that made it what it is? If something is antagonistic to the family, the Christian church, or biblical values, it gets a pass. Laws are passed in favor of it, the courts uphold it, the people are legally mandated to be able to litigate against it, it is celebrated, paraded proudly in our streets, is headlined and lauded by the major media outlets.

Here are a few examples of the anti-biblical agendas that have been foisted upon the American people over the past forty plus years, and many of them in the last several years:

• The legalization of homosexual marriage.
• The implementation of marriage (tax) penalty laws.
• Pro-abortion laws.
• Pornography and bashing what the Bible teaches is free speech, but preaching what the Bible teaches (especially when it comes to sexual morality) isn’t free speech.
• Homosexuality being promoted in the military
• The legalization of marijuana.
• Christian businesses forced to provide services to homosexuals and other sexual perverts or be in violation of antidiscrimination laws.
• Transgendered schoolchildren being legally permitted to use restrooms and locker rooms of the opposite sex (as is occurring in California starting in 2014).
• Race baiting by political and other leaders to engender racial divide causing tensions behind the races.
• The sexualization of our youth at younger ages in the public schools (not to mention the music and entertainment industries. “Sex sells!”) The promotion of “safe sex” among our youngsters, and the reluctance or refusal to teach sexual abstinence before marriage.
• Homosexual and other sexual deviant lifestyles are being forced down the throats of our school children through “sex education.”
• National healthcare is being implemented where everyone is legally forced to help fund abortion.
• Socialistic wealth redistribution schemes in all forms and manners are occurring.
• Government “entitlement” (the new name for welfare) programs that reward sloth and laziness and, as an unintended consequence, end up punishing hard work .
• Government regulations that hinder businesses from starting or continuing.
• “Free speech zones” that keep Christian preachers confined to small areas.
• The forced Islamization of America, while at the same time, biblical values and those who hold them are marginalized, persecuted or prosecuted.
• School districts forcing students to learn about Islam and to even role play being a Muslim in class (with prayer rugs and all), yet children aren’t allowed to wear tee-shirts with Christian symbols on them.
• Removal of ten commandments, prayer, crosses, Christian holidays from public places.
• Domestic spying on Americans by government agencies under the guise of stopping terrorism, but who are the terrorists in the eyes of the government? Often, it is those who hold to conservative biblical (and Constitutional) values.
• Bible believers sued (by foreigners in American courts) for exercising free speech by preaching what the Bible says against sexual perversion — called crimes against humanity in international courts.
• Local zoning laws that restrict or prohibit Bible study groups or church fellowships from meeting in homes.

How does one make sense of all the evil that is now being foisted upon Americans in ever increasing doses by government at all levels and from liberal social engineers and activists from all quarters and strata of our society? Is it a Democrat versus Republican issue? Can the lines be drawn between those who support the U.S. Constitution and those who are against it? Is this a battle between those who believe in national sovereignty versus those who are pushing one-world globalistic agendas, or between conservatives and liberals, or between capitalists and socialists?

There is only one answer to this question, and it’s a simple one. There is a cosmic struggle going on between God and Satan for control of this world, and Satan knows that his time is short, and so he’s pulling out all the stops to destroy every vestige of good — and ultimately to destroy the human race. Go read Revelation 13 starting in verse one. Especially note verse seven.

At the same times, as more and more spiritual declension occur in this nation and becomes legitimized culturally and legally, and then becomes institutionalized in the legal and educational systems, evil-doers are further emboldened to push the limits into new areas of moral and spiritual degradation. As evil gains momentum, it not only pushes the limits, but it goes on the offensive against those who traditionally adhered to and promoted absolute values in the moral and spiritual arenas. This means only one thing: tough times ahead for Bible believers!

These things are nothing more than YHVH’s judgment on a sinful, spiritual apostate and backslid nation that has largely rejected him in a most aggressive and rebellious way. On top of that, the mainstream church has failed to be salt and light in our society, has watered down the preaching of the gospel, and has become lukewarm and impotent. These things are a judgment against the church as well. We have taken our freedoms for granted and have become wealthy, spiritually fat and lazy, lukewarm spiritual Laodiceans. This is YHVH’s discipline to help wake up his sleeping people and to bring about spiritual revival. Who the Father loves, he chastens. He’s digging and pruning us right now.

In the mean time, Bible believers are more and more being forced out of the mainstream culture often through punitive laws, and being pushed into a corner and being marginalized. In other words, we are being driven underground.

This is not a bad thing, though it will be extremely difficult and trying to our faith. Our lifestyle will likely change dramatically in many ways. As to how, one needs to ask someone in a country where the church has been the target of persecution and has been driven underground in Communist, Fascist, countries like China, North Korea or many Islamic countries. They can answer that question.

While being forced underground, there will be enormous benefits for the redeemed believer:

• In many respects, life will simplify as our priorities get rearranged along more spiritual and faith lines. The things we previously thought were important to our existence will not be as important as before. Other things will become more important as we exist in survival mode.
• The true, Elohim ordained, Spirit-led five-fold ministry will arise as true apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers will take the place of false ones who have been operating in the church system for years.
• We will learn who our true friends are, and spiritual relationships will deepen. We will gain “foxhole” buddies.
• We will have to learn to hear the voice of Elohim. Our lives and spiritual existence will depend on this.
• Holiness and repentance will take on new meanings. Our survival will depend on this. If we’re not walking in holiness and obedience to the Word of Elohim as led by the Spirit, the enemy will destroy us.
• The fear of Elohim will be increased, and we will learn to overcome the fear of men.
• We will have to learn to walk in more love of the brethren and the lost. This will be a bright light shining in the spiritual darkness around us and will lead many to Yeshua.
• We will be refined spiritually in every way.
• The body of Yeshua will be forced to learn about community and love for one another.

What is my response in light of the dire predictions and warnings listed above? Bring it on!
