And God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man BECAME A LIVING SOUL. It just makes sense that when Father takes back His breath, that the soul is no longer living….yes?
Yes drbetsill, it does make sense that the soul that is the body that was given life by the breath God breathed into it goes back to the dust from which it was made. Just as God said in Gen.3:19. While the spirit that was birthed in the believer when he was born of God goes to heaven.

Yes. That is what the Scripture says. There is no mention of an immortal soul in the Bible. This idea is an unbiblical and extra-biblical concept.
Also…how can people think that we go right to heaven when there has not yet been a judgement?
Oh, but there has been a judgment regarding salvation for the believer. It happens when we trust in Jesus. It is then that He calls us righteous.
The only judgment a believer faces after physical death is for rewards. 1Cor.3:11-15.
That is my understanding as well.
