Divine Judgment on the Saints in the “Age/Dispensation of Grace”???

Acts 5:1–11, The deaths of Ananias and Sapphira. Why did Elohim kill them? It is because they committed the unpardonable sin in that they willfully and in a premeditated plot lied to the Elohim. There is no sacrifice or forgiveness for willful sin. YHVH was showing us that even in the age of the New Covenant, the so-called “age of grace,” Elohim’s grace doesn’t cover willful sin. Let us all fear YHVH Elohim and tremble before him all the time!

Some scholars suggest that YHVH killed them because they violated the Torah laws regarding the handling of devoted things, for which there was a death penalty (Lev 27:28–29). Perhaps so. Whatever the case, it’s interesting to note that YHVH struck Ananias and Sapphira dead after the cross in, what many Christians call, the dispensation of grace era when, in their minds, sin doesn’t carry the same severe penalty us under “old covenant,” law of Moses era. What we learn from this is that YHVH still views sin as sin, and the wages of sin is still death (Rom 6:23). This has never changed before or after the cross of Yeshua. Just because one isn’t struck dead immediately upon having sinned doesn’t mean one hasn’t incurred the death penalty. That death penalty is only waived when one repents of their sin and asks for YHVH’s forgiveness through faith in Yeshua whose death paid the death penalty price for our sins.

Likely, such divine judgments still occur in our day more frequently than we realize. It may not involve the death of the individual, but rather sickness, demonic attacks, financial setbacks and other adversities that occur to us. The problem is that because of human pride and spiritual deafness and blindness, most people fail to recognize the cause of their problems. We attribute them instead to random circumstances and time and chance instead of to YHVH’s hand of judgment against us because of our sin, which we fail to recognize and repent of.

Paul addresses this issue in 1 Cor 11:27–32 with regard to those who eat of the communion elements in a careless or indifferent manner.

Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

  1. Shalom Natan & All Chag Shameach!!
    Really apt statements..
There is so much of judgments of Abba unto repentance that go over our thick heads & stiff necks not appreciating the language of Heaven that we have tuned out of by the flesh. Love to all. Shalom in the midst of these days that could easily lead to fear but for those of faith build our trusting.
    Praise our King

      • Shalom Carol

So true. Have been scrambling to get family matters interstate sorted. We cannot travel far now with Government regulations prohibiting most outside of town or suburb unless it is essential work related.
My elderly parents had health issues that needed attention interstate. I just returned in time to not have to go into self isolation for 14 days but had a scare with clients who had returned from O’seas 12 hours before a self isolation law came in.
We kept separate but I had issues later locally.

Also am assisting an older friend as he has been hospitalised for some time & has no family nearby or indeed able to come to do what needs to be done for him.

Our town teeny hospital wouldn’t allow me to visit there as a super precaution that was personal discretion of the Manager as I had told the truth about the O’seas clients at the locked doors.

I am not complaining in the slightest, I am happy not to be the “one” who potentially gave the aged care unit which is in the hospital Covid as a present.
The hospital now is completely locked down with only essential staff allowed entry….no visitors at all.

But it was a good lesson in trust & understanding how fear and judgment can only be balanced correctly in relationship to Abba.

In the short time after the hospital bumped my visits I developed all the Covid “symptoms in my imagination” but with a reality base.

I used a chainsaw overhead to cut down trees that had died through the drought and my chest was really tight because I strained muscles.
I had runny nose because I mowed the lawn ( I have an allergy to grass/pollens) and don’t often mow our lawn but have little work now, so helped my husband do a section of handmowing on our block.
I had night sweats because the season is changing here and it can be a hot night or cold night and our bedding is hard to figure…

Truly I was worried I had it . Then Abba told me to go to work. I actually turned the car around on the way in doubt whilst going to a clients home as I couldn’t bear the thought of spreading the disease and then pulled over & rang my husband to tell him I was returning home. He told me I was paranoid and I prayed again and was told to go it is alright. It wasn’t easy to do but I obeyed.

I argued many thoughts in my head …..am I to be used to spread the virus? Is that Abba’s purpose? Who am I to argue? but that can’t be loving to neighbour. It was a very difficult & strange. Then I thought that Abba is not like that and just went.

So I would say I lot of water has gone under the bridge, since I was last commenting.
Hoping you are well Carol just as all who come here for drink and food and all who do not that they would find Salvation.

Our little town made a list……
Our little town is listed as a Corona Free area.. : )
May Abba protect us all wherever He has placed us to be.

      • The fires of trials, persecution and divine judgment consume the spiritual wood, hay and stubble in our lives, while at the same time, it purifies the gold, silver and precious stones. YHVH is making you (and all of us) into pure vessels and strong trees if we let him. Onward and upward!

    • Amein! I’ll take that shalom that passes all understanding including the understanding of the terrifying things that are happening in the world all around us at this very moment.

  2. Dear Natan I really appreciate Our True God & you His servant.️
Still have many bridges to cross, questions & decisions but thank Him…none of us needs to be alone.
Let us all fight the good fight in our feebleness & overcome by never giving up.
    Shalom to All.
