The Bible condemns the sin of abortion!

Exodus 21:22, Hurt a woman with child. This passage is one of the strongest pro-life, anti-abortion verses in the Scriptures. Clearly, this passage teaches that life begins in the womb. The penalty for a man who is responsible for the death of an unborn child is death (v. 23.) Could any clearer statement be made about how the Creator feels about the sanctity of life? Here are some statistics about abortion:

  • 42 million abortions occur worldwide each year (that’s 115,000 per day).
  • In 2008, 1.21 million abortions occurred in the U.S.
  • From 1973 to 2008, 50 million legal abortions occurred in the U.S.
  • 22 percent of all U.S. pregnancies end in abortion.
  • In 2007, 84% of all abortions were performed on unmarried women.
  • At current rates, nearly one-third of American women will have an abortion.

(Sources of information:;; — this is now a dead link).

Thankfully, as of this writing, the abortion rate in the US is slowly, but steadily dropping. In 2000 according to the National Right to Life (NRL), 1.36 million babies were aborted. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) puts the number at 857,475. In 2014 according to the NRL the number of abortions in the US dropped to 926,240. According to the NRL the total number of abortions performed in the US from 1973 to 2013 was nearly 58.6 million, while the CDC puts the number at nearly 51.9 million.

The murder of the innocent children is perhaps the greatest sin that a nation can commit. Abortion is a form of child sacrifice, which is something many ancient cultures practiced (e.g. the Aztecs, Incas, Phoenicians, pre-Islamic Arabs, and the biblical Canaanites). In the Bible, YHVH condemns the practice of the heathens and apostate Israelites who made their children pass through the fire in the worship of the demon-god Moloch (see Lev 18:21; 20:2–5; Deut 12:30–31; 18:10). YHVH placed on the nation of Israel a severe judgment for sacrificing its children to Moloch. He promised that their cities would be destroyed and that their nation be conquered by foreigners and that the Jews would be taken captive (see Jer 7:30–34; 32:35–36).

Exodus 21:22 clearly delineates the Creator’s position that human life begins at conception (see also Ps 139:13–16; Jer 1:5; Luke 1:15, 41, 44), not at birth.

Exodus 21:26–27, Eye…Tooth. This is the well known “eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth passage.” This is a remez meaning that these verses lay out a principle that’s broadly applicable to many situations. That is to say, what this verse is teaching us is that justice is properly served when the crime fits the punishment—when the criminal is himself deprived of that which he deprived his victim. To be sure, such a punishment is a strong deterrent to criminality! In the case of one causing another an injury for which one can’t recompense the victim (in the case of a loss of an eye or tooth), the criminal must suffer the same fate as his victim. In the case where a criminal causes harm to another (such as theft), which can be repaid, it is the criminal’s responsibility to make restitution.

  1. Shalom Natan

Abba just showed me this scripture recently. I had been witnessing Torah truth to a Christian friend and when I mentioned abortion being out of Abba’s will and the wickedness of it as murder, she cringed uncomfortably in the way of conviction & Abba showed it to me soon afterwards.

Australia received judgments for that rotten and wicked law of decriminalising abortion being accepted Australia wide. Late Last year, the last state in Australia legalised abortion on demand which began the fires of reproofs that have been devastating.
Many of those fires were actually lit by people…….people controlled by wickedness and our nation has been handed over to their hands for reproofs of correction..
Same situation for the massive drought…
Abba told me we were going into drought over 2 years ago for making legislation for homosexual marriage unions through our Federal Parliament. Everyone just ignored me when I said it and I was told by Abba the drought would break at the start of the year and it has.

I was told I shouldn’t pray for rain for the nation and that He wouldn’t hear if I did.

I was on our ladder looking into our tank of water just a few weeks back now and it was down to half way and I said to Abba in prayer I will not be afraid to use it to keep our plants alive and asked Him to remember his promise to me that He would keep the tank full.

That evening it we had an inch of rain to fill our tank to overflow and Abba released me to pray for rain for the country and it has rained incredibly since….but it is still for reproofs.

Just as it has been for reproofs throughout the years He said there would be drought.

Abba is not finished in humbling His people who have forgotten Him. He is still working for our Salvation in all this. At least the churches are praying together in desperation again….He will make us remember Him because He loves us.
Praise our Great and Mighty King and Yeshua of us.

  2. I have come to realize that by taking the ‘pill’ or using an IUD, one is also guilty of abortion since these methods do prevent the blastocyte (fertilized egg) from nesting into the placenta but instead get flushed out.
Other pregnancy prevention methods like having one’s tubes tied or vasectomies are not abortions, but most likely are interfering with Elohim’s plans and taking one’s destiny into one’s own hands.
Scripture seems to indicate that it is Elohim’s prerogative to open or close one’s womb.

    • I don’t know about you but when I see commercials with these young women and birth control or such products it makes me sick! If you’re pro-choice here’s two-legs open, legs closed!

      • I got rid of our tv about 15 years ago and haven’t had one since. Our living room looks much better without that one-eyed monster starring us in the face and being the focus of attention.

  3. The reason abortion numbers are going down at all is due to the RU486, “Day After Pill.” This is an abortive drug that does not allow the fertilized egg to attach to the uterus due to blocking progesterone production by the mother. Planned Parenthood even calls it “The Abortion Pill.” According to one website, these are 97% effective at aborting the baby.

I was a high school counselor when these came out and any girl who worried about being pregnant went to Planned Parenthood and was given one of these…without any parent knowledge of the physical act or the prescription of the drug.

Micah 2:1 – Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil on their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand.

John 8:44 – You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Psalm 37:7-13 – Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret–it leads only to evil. 9 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. 10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. 11 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace. 12 The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them; 13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.

  4. In doing more research I found this article about shots women can take a MONTH or more after confirmed pregnancy to terminate the life of an unborn child.

It is actually a chemotherapy drug that has been approved to abort unwanted babies. Here is a snipet from the article:

“My best friend, a nurse, urged me to get an abortion shot. (A what? I thought.) She swore it would be the easiest and quickest option, and told me where I could find it. She even accompanied me on the visit — though I wasn’t required to bring a second party for the procedure, which was a simple injection in the hip.

The subsequent abortion felt mercifully easy. It was quick and entailed almost no pain. Giddy with relief, I hugged the doctor on my follow-up visit, when successful termination was confirmed.

Well, it was; in Canada, anyway. Methotrexate, the chemotherapy drug used for my abortion, is one of three approved drug-based methods to end pregnancy, and an important one in environments without better alternatives; namely, countries with extremely restrictive abortion laws in which mifepristone (“the abortion pill”) is difficult to obtain. Methotrexate works by stopping fetal cell duplication as well as the ongoing implantation process. Though my experience was mild and physically undemanding — I had no downtime, nausea, or heavy bleeding — the drug itself is regarded as extremely toxic and can have a host of ugly side effects.

So the current preference among health experts around the world is for the superior abortifacient mifepristone, often called RU486 or the abortion pill, which was approved by the FDA in 2000. (Misoprostol, the third abortion medication, causes contractions of the uterus and is effective in inducing abortion 90 percent of the time. Though it can be taken alone, it’s more commonly used in combination with either methotrexate or mifepristone.) Some American clinics still offer methotrexate abortions — and methotrexate can be taken orally instead of administered by injection — but since the FDA approved mifepristone in 2000, most provide that instead. Mifepristone has a higher rate of success and carries less risk of side effects.

Medical abortion — meaning any abortion induced by drugs as opposed to achieved through surgery — constitutes the majority of abortions in many parts of Europe: 70 percent in Switzerland, 83 percent in Sweden, and 94 percent in Finland. And for the majority of human history, ingestibles and herbs have been a highly common method for inducing abortion. The ancient equivalent of medical abortion even receives mention in the Bible. When the abortion pill became available in the States, the public response anticipated an abortion revolution. Time put the pill on their print issue’s cover, and The New York Times’ headline suggested it would “reshape debate.” Gloria Feldt, president of Planned Parenthood at the time, called it “the most significant technological advance in women’s reproductive health care since the birth control pill.”

But the abortion pill amounts to only 36 percent of domestic abortions within the first nine weeks of pregnancy, at least in 2011, the most recent statistic available.”

I pray for our country. It is depraved and full of secret sin. May YHVH lay these sins bare and bring repentance.

    • Wow! The sin of murder of the unborn becomes more and more appealing and easier to do all the time, all because humans refuse follow Elohim’s blessed and life-giving commandments (thous shalt not murder, thou shalt not commit adultery, fornication and all the other sexual sins that the Bible prohibits for our own good).

Jeremiah 17:9 and Romans 8:7 say it all!
