I will be gone for a few days…hunting and fishing in the back country of Alaska, so I will not be monitoring or able to post anything on this blog. Please pray for safe travels. We’ll be getting to our destination via boat and float plane.
While others will be shooting bears, I’ll be shooting photos and video to share with you. I will be dropping a line or two in the water for some king/chinook salmon and halibut, though. So stay tuned.

No kidding! That’s quite a change. Where in AK? I’m flying to Sitka tomorrow morning, then float planing it to a spot on the SW side of the island for salmon and halibut fishing, then across the water to another island where we hope to shoot a black bear. My friend will be shooting the gun, and I’ll be shooting the film. If he gets a bear, he’s gifting me a bear prayer rug for my office. Anyway, what made you move to AK? I often thought of moving there myself to get a little further away from Babylon…and then I think of the winters. Oy vey! While I’m doing the fishing thing, Sandi and our oldest daughter are doing the inside passage cruise trip (Sandi’s third trip in three years). The ship will do the usual stops including Glacier Bay and College Fjord, and then end up in Anchorage and will fly out from there.
We like AK a lot and want to eventually get into the mainland. Maybe next year. Maybe we’ll visit you sometime! Cheers!
Fairbanks. Gary had a job offer he couldn’t refuse. Yes, we were here in early March and it was about 40 below, but decided to go for it anyway. Not permanent. Likely about 5 years. That would be awesome! Have a great time! drb
