Persecuted Christians seeking asylum in the United States will be given priority when they apply for refugee status, President Trump said Thursday.
“We are going to help them. They’ve been horribly treated,” Trump told the Christian Broadcasting Network in an interview set to air Sunday.
“Do you know if you were a Christian in Syria it was impossible, and the reason that was so unfair — everybody was persecuted in all fairness — but they were chopping off the heads of everybody, but more so the Christians,” he told CBN’s David Brody.
Upon being asked if he sees persecuted Christians “as kind of a priority” when it comes to granting non-citizens refugee status, Trump told Brady: “Yes.”
Trump was expected to sign an executive order Friday afternoon that would temporarily shut the door to most U.S.-bound immigrants from Muslim countries and suspend the Syrian refugee program.
“The secretaries of state and homeland security, as appropriate, shall cease refugee processing of and the admittance of nationals of Syria as refugees until such time as I have determined that sufficient changes have been made to the [U.S. Refugee Admittance Program] to ensure its alignment with the national interest,” read a draft of the order obtained by the Washington Examiner earlier this week.
Former Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal expressed his support for President Trump‘s executive order banning travel from seven Muslim-majority countries, saying that he is “exactly right” on the issue, adding that it is a “common sense” decision.
The former presidential candidate insisted that Trump’s move is not aimed at Muslims, but rather focused on national security. The comments come a day after 109 travelers were detained at airports throughout the U.S., including John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and Washington Dulles International Airport, leading to protests at those locations.
“President Trump is exactly right, and let’s be clear what his policy does — all he’s saying from these seven countries, we’re going to vet folks who want to come into our country and make sure they’re not here to do us harm,” Jindal said. “That’s just common sense.”
“These are seven countries where there’s a significant radical Islamic terrorist threat. It just makes common sense we’d want to make sure these folks wanting to come and kill Americans and inflict terrorist attacks here in the homeland” are screened, Jindal said.
Jindal stands as one of the prominant Republicans coming out in support of Trump’s move. It also contrasts with a cadre of GOP senators who have publicly called out or questioned the move, including Sens. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., and Rob Portman, R-Ohio.

Elohim placed judges like Deborah to preside over matters & Kings were anointed for their roles eg King David..etc…then priests had a different function to kings; the 2 could not mix U either had a Kingly anointing or a Priestly anointing…and one did not function in both ? kingly/priestly anointing…? Kings ruled in authority in line with Elohims word unless they were sinful,good & bad kings egs…same today…
the immigration issue is a big one & I can see how it is a contention point for believers & a more secular world(non-believers in the truth of scripture)…the persecuted Christians from Syria are Orthodox Christians …it is interesting to do a study/ search on the religions in Syria…? some have lots of icons in orthodox Christianity.

Your email is off topic. The article I posted had nothing to do with President Trump’s recent orders to tighten the US’s borders with regard to immigrants or visitors from certain countries that are noted for exporting terroristic activities. It had to do with persecuted Christians now having a better chance of immigrating to the US than before under the previous administration. This should be reason for us all to rejoice——NOT a pretext to change the subject and turn it into something else.
But since you brought the off-topic subject up, I will express my opinions, since this is my blog. Beyond this, I will take no further comments on this topic, since on my blog, I try to keep subjects biblically based, and I determine which subjects are to be discussed. If someone doesn’t like this, they can start their own blog.
With regard to President Trump’s recent policies, nobody in their right mind is against legal immigration. No decent person will refuse someone immigrating to this country who does so legally and is not a terrorists. My grandmother was an immigrant, so was my great grandfather, and I could go on. They all had to be vetted at Ellis Island before coming to this country. Those who didn’t meet the standards for entrance were shipped back to where they came from. Ellis Island is now boarded up. Maybe we should bring it out of mothballs!
Let’s be very careful about buying into all the socialistic, new world order, liberal, “progressive” media hype and globalist propaganda about the plight of the those coming to the US from countries who want to destroy us. Thousands on the other hand have been let it. The vetting process takes time. It will have to be refined. Until them, mistakes will be made; toes stepped on.
