How does this understanding shed light on the answer to this question?<\/p>\n<p>Both <i>Pesach <\/i>and <i>Yom Kippur <\/i>picture redemption through the shed blood of Yeshua; that is, being delivered from bondage to sin and the rudiments of this world.<\/p>\n<p>Passover symbolizes the first steps a new believer takes when coming out of spiritual Egypt and accepting Yeshua, the Lamb of YHVH, as one\u2019s Savior and Master.<\/p>\n<p><i>Yom Kippur<\/i>, on the other hand, pictures the blood of the Lamb covering over the sins of the individual <i>and<\/i> the corporate sins of the nation of Israel. <i>Yom Kippur<\/i> also prophetically points to the time when Yeshua will return to the earth to initiate the final regathering of lost Israel, and to prepare to marry his bride, redeemed Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps this understanding will help to answer why another Passover-like feast is needed. <i>Yom Kippur<\/i> doesn\u2019t focus so much on leaving Egypt, but rather on YHVH\u2019s people preparing to enter the millennial kingdom under the Messiah.<\/p>\n<div class=\"evernoteSiteMemory\"><a href=\"javascript:\" onclick=\"Evernote.doClip({title: 'After Passover, why do we need the Day of Atonement?',url: 'https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/2016\/05\/02\/the-day-of-atonement\/',contentID: 'post-8619',suggestTags: 'Appointed Times,Biblical Feasts,Biblical Holidays,Day of Atonement,Leviticus,Moedim,Passover,Pesach,Yom Kippur',providerName: 'Hoshana Rabbah Blog',styling: 'text' });return false\" class=\"evernoteSiteMemoryLink\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.evernote.com\/article-clipper.png\" \nclass=\"evernoteSiteMemoryButton\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\t\t\t\t<div class=\"evernoteSiteMemoryClear\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leviticus 16:1\u201334, Passover and the Day of Atonement compared.
