{"id":6710,"date":"2015-07-03T07:36:47","date_gmt":"2015-07-03T14:36:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/?p=6710"},"modified":"2015-07-03T07:36:47","modified_gmt":"2015-07-03T14:36:47","slug":"the-spirit-of-elohim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/2015\/07\/03\/the-spirit-of-elohim\/","title":{"rendered":"The Spirit of Elohim Can Be ON But In a Person"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Numbers 24:2,<i> The Spirit of Elohim came upon him<\/i>.<\/b><i> <\/i>We see from the Scriptures that the Spirit of YHVH can <i>come on<\/i> just about anyone, but this doesn\u2019t mean that the Spirit <i>dwells in<\/i> them, leads them, or that such a person has a heart to love, serve and obey Elohim.<\/p>\n<p>For example, the Spirit of Elohim came upon King Saul who prophesied (see 1 Sam 10:9\u201311; 19:20\u201324), but Saul didn\u2019t serve YHVH with his whole heart and eventually became a murderous, apostate occultist.<\/p>\n<p>Not only does the Bible warn us to beware of prophets who prophecy falsely (e.g. Deut 13:1\u20135; Jer 23:9\u201340; Ezek 13:2; 22:24; Isa 28:7; Matt 24:4\u20135; 2 Pet 2:1\u20133), but to beware false prophets or unrighteous individuals who YHVH may use to prophecy correctly\u2014not because they are filled with the Spirit of Elohim, but simply because the Spirit of Elohim temporarily comes upon them to accomplish YHVH\u2019s purposes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"evernoteSiteMemory\"><a href=\"javascript:\" onclick=\"Evernote.doClip({title: 'The Spirit of Elohim Can Be ON But In a Person',url: 'https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/2015\/07\/03\/the-spirit-of-elohim\/',contentID: 'post-6710',suggestTags: 'Balaam,Book of Numbers,Holy Spirit,Prophesying,Prophet,Ruach,Spirit of Elohim',providerName: 'Hoshana Rabbah Blog',styling: 'text' });return false\" class=\"evernoteSiteMemoryLink\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.evernote.com\/article-clipper.png\" \nclass=\"evernoteSiteMemoryButton\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\t\t\t\t<div class=\"evernoteSiteMemoryClear\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Numbers 24:2, The Spirit of Elohim came upon him.
