The word <i>angel<\/i> (Gr. <i>angelos<\/i>) means \u201ca messenger, envoy, one who is sent, an angel, a messenger from Elohim,\u201d and can refer to human messengers as well as to angels (in the traditional sense of the word).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/2015\/02\/20\/are-you-an-angel\/jacobs-ladder\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5994\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5994\" src=\"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Jacobs-ladder-300x185.png\" alt=\"Jacob's ladder\" width=\"300\" height=\"185\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Jacobs-ladder-300x185.png 300w, https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Jacobs-ladder-487x300.png 487w, https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Jacobs-ladder.png 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><i>Angelos<\/i> is synonymous with the Hebrew word <i>malak<\/i>, which has the same definition. It was \u201cangels\u201d or messengers ascending and descending the ladder that Jacob saw in his vision. Both <i>malak <\/i>and <i>angelos <\/i>can refer to human messengers as well.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Yeshua called John the Baptist a messenger (<i>angelos<\/i>, see Matt 11:10; Mark 1:2; Luke 7:27; also see 2 Cor 12:7; Phil 2:25).
