He nevertheless set us an example of showing resect to human leaders though evil and lawless they maybe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/2014\/04\/28\/speaking-evil-of-a-ruler\/mouth-4-20837968\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4674\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4674\" alt=\"Mouth 4 20837968\" src=\"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Mouth-4-20837968-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Mouth-4-20837968-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Mouth-4-20837968-451x300.jpg 451w, https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Mouth-4-20837968.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Exodus 22:28, <i>Curse a ruler. <\/i><\/strong>The TWOT notes that in Hebrew there are six words that are all translated into the English word <i>curse<\/i> in the KJV. Each word has a different connotation, which our word <i>curse<\/i> fails to convey. In this verse, behind <i>curse<\/i> is the Hebrew word <i>arar<\/i> meaning <i>\u201c<\/i>bind with a spell, to hem in with obstacles, render powerless, to resist.\u201d This word is used for Elohim cursing the serpent and the earth (Gen 14, 17), Cain, and Balak hiring Balaam to curse Israel (Num 22:6ff). In the majority of times, the use of <i>arar<\/i> is used in the Scriptures falls under three broad categories: (a) the declaration of punishments (Gen 3:14, 17); (b) the utterance of threats (Jer 11:3; 17:5; Mal 1:14); (c) the proclamation curses for violation of Elohim\u2019s laws (Deut 27:15; 28:16\u201319) (Ibid.).<\/p>\n<div class=\"evernoteSiteMemory\"><a href=\"javascript:\"
