We have all heard about the Christian cake makers who refuse to bake and decorate wedding cakes for homosexuals<\/strong> wanting to get “married.” There are also the wedding photographers who refuse to photograph a homosexual “wedding,” and the print shops who refuses to produce and print the wedding invitation for same. These business owners are either vilified or lauded, depending on which side of the homosexual rights issue you fall.<\/p>\n

Many years ago, it wasn’t uncommon to see a sign posted in a retail business that said, “We reserve the right to refuse business to anyone.” Remember those days? After all, it seems reasonable that if you’re the owner of a business you can choose who you want and don’t want to do business with. Right? Wrong! Welcome to the brave new world of our 21st century post-Christian society! just trying refusing doing business with a homosexual who demands that you bake them a wedding cake. You’re likely to have the state penalize you with fines for “discrimination” and try to force you to bake that cake against your will. As a small business owner myself for nearly 30 years, I find this impossible to imagine. I started my business so that I could be the captain of my own ship without having to compromise my deeply held spiritual, biblical values. I consciously chose not to go into the corporate world because serving and obeying YHVH was more important to me than prostituting my values to the god of mammon. Now the state tells me that I have to do something that goes against my biblical beliefs or be punished. Can anyone say “religious persecution”?<\/p>\n

Let me be perfectly clear where I draw the line. As a full time secular business owner-operator, I’m not against doing business with homosexuals or anyone else. I have a number of clients who are homosexual \u2014 some of whom I have been working with for years. It’s really quite simple: I perform them service and they pay me. As a condition for my working for them, they’re not asking me to condone their lifestyle \u2014 one which the Bible calls abominable. Where I draw the line is if my working for them someone implies that I am lending support, or showing agreement with their unrighteous lifestyle. This I couldn’t do. In my opinion, when you bake a wedding cake for a homosexual couple, you’re showing tacit agreement with the idea that homosexuals can marry, which according to the Bible is not only impossible, but abominable.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, as a Bible believer, were I to bake that cake, word likely would get out in the homosexual community that I was baking cakes resulting in more business for me. What kind of spiritual signal would this send into the homosexual world? That the Bible condones homosexual “weddings?” Sorry, but I don’t want any part of this! Truthfully, I prefer the praises of YHVH Elohim over the praises of men.<\/p>\n

So I stand with the Christian cake decorators who, because of their biblical beliefs, refuse to bake \u00a0cakes for the homosexual “weddings.” But what are the biblical reasons for this refusal? Is there a command in the Bible that says, “Thou shalt not bake a cake for a homosexual “wedding.” Of course not. But just because there’s no explicit command doesn’t mean the Bible does’t have something to say about it. After all, there’s no explicit command in the Bible against the use of illicit drugs, yet we all know that this is something that goes against biblical values. Here are the biblical reasons why I wouldn’t bake that cake.<\/strong><\/p>\n
