He is referring to the Torah, something some Christian Bible teachers say did not exist before Moses and Mount Sinai (see also Gen 26:5). Let\u2019s now see how the Scriptures define these terms and how they relate to the Torah. Genesis\u202f18:19 says,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFor I [YHVH] know him [Abraham], that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><b>the way<\/b><\/span> of YHVH, to do<span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><b> justice<\/b><\/span> and<span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><b> judgment<\/b><\/span>; that YHVH may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken.\u201d (emphasis added)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Let\u2019s define the three highlighted words above in the larger context of the Scriptures.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/2013\/10\/15\/torah-obedience-before-moses\/moses-10-cs-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3806\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3806\" alt=\"Moses 10 Cs 2\" src=\"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Moses-10-Cs-2-239x300.png\" width=\"239\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Moses-10-Cs-2-239x300.png 239w, https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Moses-10-Cs-2-816x1024.png 816w, https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Moses-10-Cs-2.png 1040w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 239px) 100vw, 239px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way\u201d is the Hebrew word <i>derech <\/i>(<i>Strong\u2019s <\/i>H1870) and is used in the following places:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blessed are the undefiled in the way [<i>derech<\/i>], who walk in the law [Torah] of YHVH. (Ps 119:1)<\/li>\n<li>I will run the way [<i>derech<\/i>] of the commandments \u2026 (Ps 119:32)<\/li>\n<li>Teach me, O YHVH, the way [<i>derech<\/i>] of thy statutes \u2026 (Ps 119:33)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cJustice\u201d<i> <\/i>is the Hebrew word <i>tsedaqah <\/i>(<i>Strong\u2019s <\/i>H6666) meaning \u201crighteousness<i>.\u201d <\/i>Here is an example of its usage:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2026 for all thy commandments are righteousness \u2026 (Ps 119:172)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cJudgments\u201d<i> <\/i>is the Hebrew word <i>mishpatim <\/i>(<i>Strong\u2019s <\/i>H4941) meaning \u201cordinances\u201d referring to YHVH\u2019s moral and ethical laws as embodied in the last six of the ten commandments, which teach righteousness in one\u2019s business and personal relationships.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u2026[YHVH\u2019s] righteous judgments [<i>mishpat<\/i>]. (Ps 119:7)<\/li>\n<li>I have chosen the way [<i>derech<\/i>] of truth: thy judgments [mishpat] have I laid before me. (Ps\u202f119:30)<\/li>\n<li>Thy word is true from the beginning; and every one of thy righteous judgments [<i>mishpat<\/i>] endures forever.
