{"id":2512,"date":"2013-03-07T21:46:20","date_gmt":"2013-03-08T05:46:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/?p=2512"},"modified":"2013-03-08T08:01:38","modified_gmt":"2013-03-08T16:01:38","slug":"what-is-truth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/2013\/03\/07\/what-is-truth\/","title":{"rendered":"What Is Truth?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>John 17:17, <i>Truth.<\/i><\/strong> Yeshua, the One sent to this earth from Elohim in heaven, says here, \u201cThy [Elohim\u2019s] Word is truth.\u201d In Matthew\u202f4:4, Yeshua said, \u201cMan shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Elohim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/2013\/03\/07\/what-is-truth\/attachment\/32351753\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2513\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2513\" alt=\"32351753\" src=\"http:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/32351753-201x300.jpg\" width=\"201\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/32351753-201x300.jpg 201w, https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/32351753.jpg 538w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 201px) 100vw, 201px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So what is truth? The word in Hebrew for truth is <i>emet<\/i> (spelled <i>aleph<\/i>, <i>mem<\/i>, <i>tav<\/i>), which is comprised of the first, middle and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Truth embodies everything from the beginning to the very end of YHVH\u2019s Word (literally, his Torah or the first five books of the Bible, and secondarily, the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation).<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the Scriptures call Yeshua \u201cthe beginning and the end of our faith\u201d (Heb 12:2), and likens him metaphorically to <i>alpha<\/i> and <i>omega<\/i> (Rev 1:8,\u200911; 21:6; 22:13), which are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. These letters corresponds in symbolic meaning to the <i>aleph<\/i> and <i>tav<\/i>, which are the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In Hebrew thought, truth consists of all of the Word of Elohim from the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet to the last letter. This same idea is picked up by the Jewish apostolic writers of the Testimony of Yeshua and applied to Yeshua who was the Word of Elohim sent to humanity in human form. As the human embodiment of the divine Word of Elohim he was referred to as the <i>alpha<\/i> and <i>omega<\/i>, or, in Hebrew thought, the <i>aleph<\/i> and the <i>tav<\/i>. We see this idea expressed in John 1:1\u20135 and 14 where it says of Yeshua,<\/p>\n<p>In the beginning was the Word [Torah], and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. The same was in the beginning with Elohim. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.\u2026 And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Bible, the Word of Elohim, is the whole truth and nothing but the truth!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"evernoteSiteMemory\"><a href=\"javascript:\" onclick=\"Evernote.doClip({title: 'What Is Truth?',url: 'https:\/\/hoshanarabbah.org\/blog\/2013\/03\/07\/what-is-truth\/',contentID: 'post-2512',suggestTags: 'Aleph and Tav,Alpha and Omega,Bible,Truth.
