We Need Spiritual Activation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To enter into a relationship with YHVH Elohim,<\/strong> our Creator and Father in heaven, and to become his sons and daughters, we must be spiritually activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Man is comprised of three parts: body, soul and spirit (1 Thess 5:23). Our soul (our mind, will and emotions) controls what we think, say and do.  The spirit part of man is what connects to the Spirit of YHVH Elohim. About the man\u2019s spirit, the Scriptures talk say this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. (Job 32:8)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? (Eccl 3:21)<\/p>

The burden of the word of YHVH for Israel, saith YHVH, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. (Zech 12:1)<\/p>

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of Elohim knoweth no man, but the Spirit of Elohim. (1 Cor 2:11)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Man can\u2019t enter into a relationship with a YHVH who is a spirit through his soul (his mind, will and emotions). Elohim is a Spirit, and we must relate to  him through the Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor 2:14)\u00a0<\/p>

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Elohim is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23\u201324)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For man to relate to Elohim, he must do so through his spirit. This means man\u2019s spirit must be activated, which occurs at the time of his spiritual birth \u2014 when a man is \u201cborn again\u201d  or born of the spirit (John 3:5) at the time of his spiritual conversion. When this occurs, a man receives in himself the Spirit of Elohim, which activates and controls the spirit in man, which in turn controls the soul (the mind,will and emotions), which in turn tells the body what to think, say and do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we are spiritually born again, our spirit man is activated by the Spirit of Elohim. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spirit of a man is the lamp of YHVH, Searching all the inner depths of his heart. (Prov 20:27)\u00a0<\/p>

But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding. (Job 32:8)<\/p>

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of Elohim (Rom 8:16)\u00a0<\/p>

That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith (Eph 3:16\u201317)<\/p>

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from Elohim, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by Elohim. These things we also speak, not in words which man\u2019s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. \u2026 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. (1 John 2:20, 27)<\/p>

And every spirit that does not confess that Yeshua the Messiah has come in the flesh is not of Elohim. And this is the spirit of the Antimessiah, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. (1 John 4:3)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Born of the Spirit Versus Baptized in the Spirit <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s the difference between being born of the Spirit and being baptized in the Spirit? <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The former, which occurs when one is baptized in water for the remission of sins, occurs at the beginning of one\u2019s spiritual walk. Water baptism for the remission of sins occurs at the time of one\u2019s conversion and symbolizes being spiritually regenerated by dying to the old sin nature and being resurrected in the newness of life unto the righteousness of Yeshua. It marks the beginning of walking in victory over sin as a spiritual overcomer the results of which are righteousness through obedience to the commandments of Elohim and one\u2019s manifesting the fruits of the Spirit in one\u2019s life as evidenced through the greatest fruit of all, which is love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By contrast, the baptism of the Spirit is a special immersion in the Holy Spirit for ministry purposes, which enables us to more effectively confront the evil darkness in this world via the power of the Elohim. It is for the purpose of helping to advance the kingdom of Elohim by preaching the gospel message with spiritual power and then gathering in those who are to be saved out of this world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will we automatically be baptized with the Spirit after we have received baptism for the remission of sins? Not necessarily. The Scriptures reveal that this may or may not be the case. When Yeshua was baptized in the Jordan, he received the baptism of the Spirit (Matt 3:16; Mark 1:10; John 1:32), and very quickly afterwards went out and preaching the gospel and ministering in the power of the Spirit with signs and wonders following him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the day of Pentecost, the disciples had already received the Spirit from Yeshua (John 20:22), but not the baptism of the Spirit. Other in attendance on the day of Pentecost received the baptism of the Spirit, and then were subsequently received baptism for the remission of sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Ephesus, however, the believers received the baptism of repentance, but not the Spirit of Elohim. When this occurred, they were also baptized in the Spirit (Acts 19:1\u20136).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At another time, the believers received the baptism of the Spirit, and then were water baptized (Acts 10:44\u201347). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These examples from the Scriptures teach us that there are no formulas. Only that it is the will of the Father that we be baptized in water for the remission of sins for living victoriously over sin and walking in righteousness, and be also baptized in the Spirit for ministry empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Yeshua and his disciples had the Spirit of Elohim, but it wasn\u2019t until they were immersed <\/em>or baptized<\/em> in the Spirit that they were equipped with the miraculous power necessary to advance the kingdom of Elohim and cause the kingdom of Satan to retreat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There Is More than One Baptism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When most people think of the concept of baptism, they think of water immersion that occurs at the beginning of one\u2019s spiritual walk referred to as \u201cthe baptism for the remission of sins,\u201d  which is based on Yeshua\u2019s great commission command (Matt 28:19) and on Peter\u2019s instructions on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:38).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In reality, the Bible speaks of more than one baptism. The author of Hebrews talks about \u201c the doctrine of baptisms\u201d  (plural) and refers to it as a fundamental principle or \u201cdoctrine of Messiah\u201d to be taught to believers along with doctrines of repentance, faith in Elohim, the laying on of hands, belief in the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment (Heb 6:1\u20132). John the Baptist spoke of two baptisms: one of water for repentance and another with the Holy Spirit and fire (Matt 3:11). The writer of Hebrews considers understanding these principles as being elementary, and the milk of the Word of Elohim (Heb 6:1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Testimony of Yeshua actually speak of four baptisms. They are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
