A Prayer, “Abba Father, stir us up…”

A prayer:

Yehovah Elohim, the disciples of Yeshua were so energized spiritually by his convincing bodily appearance to them after his resurrection that they immediately began preaching the gospel far and wide, and did so selflessly in the face of persecution, imprisonment, torture and even martyrdom. Prior to this, they ran away in fear from doing doing the great commission.  Similarly, Yehovah Elohim, may Yeshua become so real to each of us, your end time servants, that we will follow in the disciples’ same footsteps of passionate and death defying zeal at sharing the message of Yeshua to those around us. Yehovah, give each of us a fresh revelation of Yeshua, and may this somehow empower us, stir up and set ablaze our lassitudenous, obdurate, tepid and, at times, effete hearts to fearlessly and enthusiastically proclaiming Yeshua the Messiah and his coming kingdom. Amein.

As a side note, I have  more than 430 videos on the Hoshana Rabbah YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/HoshanaRabbah?feature=mhee), most of which are my own teachings. Some years back, I made a couple of short videos with tips on how to share the gospel with those around us via friendship or relational evangelism. Sadly, these videos are at or near the bottom of the list of the least watched videos on my channel. Enough said.

  1. Hello Natan– sharing the gospel is good as we have God given opportunity. However, we have to remember that for people’s mind to be opened, God the Father has to call them. No one can come to the true Jesus Christ by the invitation of man or human efforts. The true Jesus Christ has to then reveal the Father. To those invited by the Father. John 6:44-45; Matt. 11:27. All we can do in our own is collect tares.

The main harvest of souls occurs during the eight day, also known as the great white throne judgment when the books are opened and all of mankind is given a real opportunity to respond to the invitation for salvation with no more blindness and confusion. Revelation 20:12-13. God is only calling the first fruits now to be leaders in the world tomorrow in which he will give the rest of mankind an opportunity to seek the Lord. The entire Holy Day day depicts this plan of salvation.

    • I meant The Holy Day the Eighth Day (not eight day) which follows Feast of Tabernacles. Christianity has wrongfully assumed that the Great White Throne Judgment is a judgment of condemnation for past sins. Instead, the books of the Bible will be opened and those who never had a real first chance for salvation will have a full and fair opportunity with the requirements of God made plain. This is the good news of the gospel, and again God’s plan of salvation is depicted by the holy days .

    • True, but we don’t know who Elohim is calling or not, which is why Yeshua commissioned us, his disciples, to scatter the seed of the gospel far and wide to the Jews in Jerusalem first, then Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Not only that, as Paul teaches, it is also up to us to water the seed that has already been planted by others, and maybe even reap some of the fruit in the mean time. We are the hands, feet, voice—the spiritual body of Yeshua on this earth to do his work. Also, there is the ministry of the evangelist to do what? Proclaim the gospel!

Also, how does the Bible reveal that YHVH “calls” people to himself????? Obviously, he has the sovereign power and ability to “call” people any way he wants. However, the apostolic writers, and as Yeshua himself reveal, tell us that the primary way YHVH “calls” people is trough the preaching of the gospel. Paul clearly state this in Rom 10:14–15 as does Yeshua when commissioning his disciples to preach the gospel to the whole world in Matt 28.

Moreover, the Eighth Day prophetically represents the New Jerusalem and eternity beyond that (Hebrew olam habah), which is the habitation of the resurrected, glorified saints. By that time, the gospel should have already been proclaimed and those who are saved will have been saved. Therefore, we still have a lot of work to do in the mean time.

It is true that Sukkot/the Feast of Tabernacles represents the great fall harvest——a picture of Yeshua’s millennial reign on this earth, and that there will be a great harvest of souls at that time. But as the seasonal harvests teach us, around which the biblical festivals revolve (in reality, it’s the other way around!), there’s an early spring harvest, a late spring harvest, and as any agriculturist knows, produce is being harvested all summer long, even up until the time of the big fall harvest. We’ve been in the time of the summer harvest for the last 2000 years. So let’s get to work!

    • With all due respect and love, Yeshua is the “firstfruits”, by his resurrection from the dead as the first-born (firstfruits) from the dead, as 1 Corinthians 15:20 says.
Believers are only firstfruits in the sense that we are in union with Yeshua, because of his atoning death for us.

      • I agree, but there’s more. Let’s be more precise. Technically, Yeshua is the “first of the first fruits.” The barley wavesheaf offering on First Fruits Day represented Yeshua being resurrected and ascending to heaven after his death. The barley was and is the first crop to be harvested in the early spring in Israel. However, in the late spring, the wheat harvest comes ripe. This corresponds with the Feast of Shavuot/Pentecost, which the Torah also calls “the feast of the harvest of first fruits.” So the barley harvest was a smaller harvest in ancient times, but the bigger first fruits harvest was the wheat. Then came the greatest harvest of all in the fall.

Yes I know that the NT writers call Yeshua the first fruits (e.g. 1 Cor 15:20, 23), but the saints of that time were also called first fruits (Rom 16:5; 1 Cor 16:15; Jas 1:18; Rev 14:4). So if both Yeshua and the NT saints are called first fruits, and Yeshua was the first to resurrect from the dead, and the saints won’t resurrect until his second coming, doesn’t this, logically, make Yeshua the first of the first fruits? Most of these saints mentioned as first fruits by the apostolic writers were saved after the day of Pentecost, which occurred during the wheat harvest, and not during the earlier time of the barley harvest.

See how all this works together? It’s an amazing tapestry of spiritual truths that YHVH weaves together in his word to paint a physical-spiritual picture, so that we puny-minded humans can understand the vast complexities of his great and glorious plan of salvation. I step back in rapt awe of it all!

    • Respectfully, the Millennium cannot be the time of the great harvest. It has to be during the Greay Whte Throne Judgment symbolized by the Eighth Day Holy day that follows Feast of Tabernacles. The rest of the dead not included in the first resurrection at return of Christ don’t live again until the thousand years are finished. Rev. 20:5. Billions have lived and died without a real Chamce for salvation. While many will come to salvation during the Millennium, the rest of the dead don’t come up till the Eighth Day. The books are then opened to them. Rev. 20:12-13. The Millennium is to prepare the earth for this second resurrection and great harvest. It is why we are having a Millennium. The first fruit saints teach under Jesus Christ during this time.

      • There are people who live outside the New Jerusalem who have not yet come to salvation when it comes down. If only the saved live
On the earth at this time, who are the outsiders? Who needs to eat of Tree of Life for healing? Why does the New Jerusalem have a great and high wall? Why keep people out with a wall if it is an eternal state of perfection? Why have any wall at all?

      • I agree. But the the NJ and the Eighth Day are not totally synonymous concepts or realities, as I see it. This could get into a long discussion with a lot of scriptures going back and forth, but I’ll keep it brief and to the point. As I see it, the NJ is hovering over the earth and is the habitation of Yeshua during his millennial reign. There are a number of passages in Revelation that clearly suggest this. So I agree with your statement about it being here while physical people are on earth. As you state, how else does one explain the need for the trees pdf life that the nations come to for healing? Of course, the NJ will continue to exist into the Eighth Day (which is eternity or olam haba) after the millennial period has come and gone. That’s my best understanding of this after 50 years of study on it. Blessings!

      • May Yahweh and His Son Yeshua bless you too Natan. Glad we can sharpen iron together. I want to always be humble in my studies and approach and feel you set good example in this.

  2. Hello David, I’m intrigued by your view on the Great White Throne but it also smacks of universalism. Can you direct me to a scriptural-based book on the subject?
