Genesis 40:20, Pharaoh’s birthday. The is the first of three references to birthdays in the Bible. The second one is to Job’s children who were killed on, presumably, one of their birthdays (Job 1:4, 18–19).The third reference to King Herod, who had John the Baptist beheaded on his birthday (Matt 14:6–12). Because of the fact that birthdays are associated with calamity in the Bible, some people refuse to celebrate birthdays, even though there is no direct or indirect prohibition against honoring a loved one once a year on the day of their birth.
Though I respect a person’s right to disagree with me on this issue, it is the opinion of this writer that celebrating birthdays is neither inherently evil nor a pagan thing to do. It is merely honoring and respecting a loved one on the day marking their debut into this world. What’s evil about that? “Oh, it’s a pride thing,” someone might respond. If so, then answer me this: How is honoring and showing love by telling someone that you’re glad they were born “a pride thing”? And if it’s pride, thenpride on whose part? The Bible teaches that there is a wrong and sinful kind of pride and right kind of pride, but that’s another discussion.
Now what about celebrating Yeshua’s birthday on Christmas? Is that wrong or evil? No, not inherently, unless we mix satanic and pagan traditions into the mix, and do it on the same day that the ancient pagans honored their demon sun-god. Of itself, there’s nothing evil about recognizing the coming of the Messiah in human form to this earth. To be sure, this is something to be celebrated in one way or another. The problem is that in so doing, most people have not only mixed in pagan traditions with their celebrations, and have secularized out of it the real purpose of the day, and have chosen to celebrate the Messiah’s birth on the totally wrong day, and, perhaps, worst of all, they have rejected or made of non-effect the clear word of Elohim that commands all the saints to celebrate the seven biblical feasts. Instead, men have substituted Christmas and Easter (et al) for Passover, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles and the Eighth Day. This is not only wrong, but it is, by biblical definition, sinful, for it violates the laws of YHVH Elohim (1 John 3:4).
Yeshua addressed religious leaders’ sinful, rebellious and prideful proclivity to substitute their man made doctrines and traditions for the Word of Elohim.
He answered and said unto them, Well hath Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the [Torah] commandment of Elohim, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.… Making the word of Elohim of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. (Mark 7:6–8, 13)
Would you happen to know and could you please share the exact date of Jesus’ birth from Jewish records?
There are no extra-biblical Jewish records that even mention his birth, much less the exact date of it except for a couple of references to Yeshua’s ministry in the writings of the first century Jewish historian Flavius Josephus.
As far as the exact date of his birth, all we can do is speculate. No one knows the exact date. I believe it was in the fall at the time of fall biblical feasts, and that Yeshua was conceived during Hanukkah (this latter point we can prove from Scripture, which I have written about previously on this blog).

Santa into Satan? Come on! Santa ≠ Satan. Santa is, as everyone knows, the Spanish word for saint. Santa Claus is short for Saint Nicholas, the Catholic saint. There is no linguistic connection between Santa and Satan whatsoever. That’s like saying that ant and tan are somehow related because they share the same letters. Ant and tan are both English words. Santa is a Spanish word and Satan is a Hebrew word that means “adversary.” They’re not even the same language and are separated linguistically by thousands of years! So please, sir, with all due respect, don’t even suggest such a connection.
That being said, there are, I doubt by coincidence, a lot of similarities between Santa and Satan. I get that. Others have made the connections. Even between Santa and Moloch, Baal and Chemosh (Canaanite demon-gods who received child sacrifices into the open arms of their red-hot pot-bellied ovens). But let’s traffic in facts. This makes our case much stronger and makes us look intelligent. We want to present ourselves as being reasonable and intelligent to those we are trying to enlighten on the pagan origins of Christmas. There is a plethora of credible facts and evidence to indict Christmas and Santa Claus as being unbiblical and ungodly without resorting to nonfactual silliness.
Please take this admonition in love. It will serve you well when presenting the truth to our brothers and sisters who are still caught up in pagan Christianity as we once were. YHVH is calling his people out of the Babylonian whore system (Rev 18:4). Let’s not forget where we once were, and what approach worked best on us that helped us to “come out of her my people.”

Yes indeed. I’m going to be blunt here and say what needs to be said on this subject.
Sadly, Christmas is the perennial whipping boy which a lot of supercilious, legalistic Torah zealots like to use to continually like to beat up on those “poor” and “stupid” Christians, who are not as superior to us enlightened ones who know the pagan roots of Christmas, and who have abandoned this heathen practice in favor of a higher level of truth. Well, sir, there for the grace of YHVH go all of us. Many of you used to be there kneeling before the tree and lusting after the gifts. Well, were it not for the grace of Yah, you’d still be setting up your tree! So give him the glory, and start using honey instead of vinegar to draw our Christian brothers and sisters away from their unbiblical practices and back to the biblical roots of their faith.
Now, that that’s out of my craw, let’s speak some truth and deal with the facts. The Bible nowhere specifically condemns Christmas. You can’t give me chapter and verse, so don’t even try.
What the Bible condemns, and I have clearly spelled this out in numerous previous blog posts, as well as this one, is the setting up of a cut and decorated tree—–a heathen practice, to be sure, which is condemned in Jeremiah 10. We all know that. This is old news.
The Bible also condemns the adoption of pagan practices. We all know how many of these vile traditions have crept into the Christmas celebration. This too is old news.
The Bible also condemns disobeying YHVH commands to not keep his feasts. To not do so is sin. Christmas is not one of these feasts, obviously. This too is old new for most of us.
The Bible also condemns replacing the clear commands of YHVH with the traditions of men, which Christmas has done.
So, no, your statement that the Bible condemns Christmas isn’t technically correct; however, the Bible clearly condemns many of the practices associated with this unbiblical holiday.
Moreover, you obviously don’t know me, nor have you read broadly concerning what I have written on the subject of Christmas in the past (to find this out, simply type in “Christmas” in the search engine on the front page of this blog), or else you wouldn’t deem my position as “unclear,” although the literal words of my blog should seem clear enough as to my position on this subject. But for the record, nowhere have I ever defended Christmas including in this blog post or any past ones. If you’ll go back and read this post with your mind and not your emotions, I said that there’s no biblical prohibition about celebrating Yeshua’s birthday——just don’t do it on the birthday of the demon sun god, and, if you choose do so, lose all the pagan trappings. Voila, you now don’t have any semblance of “Christmas” any longer, do you? Oh, in the mean time, also keep the biblical festivals, or else you’re sinning.

By your logic Santa and Satan each have five letters, so therefore these individuals are related or even equivalent to each other. By this logic, (Adolf) H-I-T-L-E-R and (Ronald) R-E-A-G-A-N are somehow connected; each has six letters in their name. See how silly and illogical this sounds? Let’s not make our case against the evil Santa Claus using this type of illogical argumentation. It doesn’t strengthen our case. Let’s stick to logic and truth.
Moreover, I in no way disagree with you about the evils of Santa and who are what he represents. I was taking exceptation with the idea that somehow the words Santa and Satan are related etymologically because they have the same letters in them. This is a leap that logically can’t be made. We all need to learn to accept accountability from one another and to admit when we’re wrong. If we can’t do this and get our emotions and egos out of the way, then there are much larger issues within ourselves that we need to deal with.
