1 John 2:18, The Antichrist. Other biblical references that many Christians scholars believe allude to the end times Antichrist figure include:
- The Beast (Rev 13:4)
- The abomination that causes desolation (Matt 24:15)
- The desolator (Dan 9:27)
- The man of sin (or lawlessness), the son of perdition (2 Thess 2:3)
- The little horn (Dan 7:8)
- The Assyrian (Mic 5:5; Isa 10:5; 14:25)
Many antichrists. How does John define the spirit of antichrist? From 1 John 2:18–19, 22; 4:3; 2 John 7 we learn that the Antichrist and all spirits of antichrist have come out of the first century apostolic faith of the Jewish Christian community. From these passages we also learn that the spirit of antichrist denies that Yeshua is the Messiah (Savior and Redeemer of man), denies that Yeshua is part of the “Godhead,” that he is deity and is the Son of Elohim, and denies the incarnation of Yeshua. This is how the Bible defines the spirit of antichrist.
What should be our reaction when we encounter this demonic spirit of antichrist? The wise counsel of John in his second epistle sums up our firm conviction on this matter.
Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Messiah does not have Elohim. He who abides in the doctrine of Messiah has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds. (2 John 9–11)
What additionally can we learn about the person of the Antichrist and the spirit of antichrist from the four passages where antichrist is mentioned in John’s epistles?
From 1 John 2:18–19, 22; 4:3; 2 John 7 we learn that the Antichrist and all spirits of antichrist have come out of the first century apostolic faith of the Jewish Christian community. This eliminates some of the world’s large religions (e.g. Hinduism, Buddhism) as being contenders for the end times religious system of the Antichrist. That leaves paganized mainstream Christianity and Islam. From these passages we also learn that the spirit of antichrist denies that Yeshua is the Messiah (Savior and Redeemer of man), denies that Yeshua is part of the “Godhead,” is deity and is the Son of Elohim, and denies the incarnation of Yeshua. Only Islam fits this biblical description of an antichrist religion.
If I may mention Joel Richardson( who reaches Muslims for Messiah,( don’t know too much else about him) he was on a show with Glen Beck and Joel explains that all the Muslims say about their Madhi or Imam fits the biblical picture of the antichrist (vdieo on youtube, if it’s still up) So yes I agree with this post.

Very good message Natan.. also we know the latest Wedding of the Year 2018 took place in Windsor over the weekend. It was very interesting to hear Bishop Michael Curry from the Episcopalean church ..I did some searching on him & found heaps of info. very educated man ..it was somewhat an evangelistic message he gave ….interesting seeing the faces of the wedding guests in the Chapel
The downside is even for all his eloquent words..(enticing speech) spoken & quoting from some scripture..This Man does support gay marriage…so shows where it is all heading…
I researched many things between 2011-2012. A BBC UK. ARTICLE I FOUND DATED 15 FEB. 2012 ..TITLED QUEEN HIGHLIGHTS CHURCH OF ENGLAND’S DUTY TO ALL FAITHS. in a speech @ LONDON’S LAMBETH PALACE..she argued the Church’s role was not to “defend Anglicanism to the exclusion of other religions.”
added concept of an established Church was “occasionally misunderstood” & commonly under-appreciated….a multi-faith reception followed.
Many faiths represented -Baha’i, Buddhist, Hindu,Jain,Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, & Zoroastrian communities,as well as Christian representatives.
In my country & suburb where i live…the main public hospitals all have a multi-faith chapel..room ..that patients,visitors can pray in …well this person( myself); would never walk into one..but one can’t miss them walking down the corridor of the hospital all the symbols of each religion on the glass window of the multi faith prayer room.
there is a multi faith group that started in our own local council area…The City of Casey..I have pictures from a old local newspaper listing them all who attend..including Catholic representative & Christian also…it is very out there & gaining strength..
