Do we really think that we’re better than the children of Israel?

Numbers 14:22, Have tempted me now these ten times. Israel, while in the wilderness, tested YHVH ten times and refused to heed his voice.

According to the Jewish sages, these ten times were: Exodus 14:11; 15:24; 16:3; 16:20; 16:27; 17:2; 32:4; Numbers 11:1; 11:4; and here (i.e., believing the spies’ evil report).

Look at each of these incidents where Israel “tested” YHVH and preferred to walk in doubt and unbelief rather than to trust YHVH’s Word. These are examples for us to learn from (1 Cor 10:11). Be blatantly honest with yourself: how many times have you tested your Heavenly Father in the same areas Israel did?

  1. I do think that it is a bit different for us who have the Ruach hakodesh living within us. Back then, only a few even had that privilege. So, without the Ruach, you know it had to be much more difficult for them.

    • The way I understand scripture is that the Ruach / Spirit of Truth had been alive and well since the beginning of time. The Ruach is not something new that was given on Pentacost like the church teaches. Enoch walked with יהוה. And the Spirit that was on Moshe was placed on the elders too!

The Spirit of Emet, Truth is Yahushua / Torah. He leads us in Truth and obedience to Torah. Never contrary. Shalom

  2. How can we feel that we are better than Israel when we received The Spirit of Yeshua, we also became Israel for we were grafted into The Vine?

I surely don’t know if I worded that right??
